OT: Need to vent

Postby ebake02 » Thu Dec 20, 2007 1:36 pm

I really need to vent. I started a my new job about a month ago and they laid me off yesterday. What pisses me off the most is the fact that these fuckers are doing this a week before chistmas. On top of that they have more money than they know what to do with and their too fucking cheap to keep people employed. I can understand that business is slow but when their making that kind of money you'd think they'd be a little more willing spend it.

I'm really sorry to hear about this. I've been there, done that myself, so I know what you're going through. It may not seem like it now, but everything happens for a reason. Something good will come of this.

Sorry to hear that! This is never the time of year to be without a job, but Hopefully something else will come along. No matter how many times I've been down and out, something ALWAYS seems to turn around and work out for the better!

whether you liked that job or not, just keep your spirits up! A lot of companies need extra help this time of year. If you start out part-time, maybe it could turn into full-time. If not...You could ALWAYS join the Army National Guard! CALL-ME!!!

I had a job pull something like that about 14 years ago on me. We started as "temps" and were told we'd be there through at least April. Christmas rolled around as well as New Years and I asked my supervisor if everything is still kosher with us temps and our jobs. He replied that it was a busy season and everything looked great. That was on a Wednesday. Friday afternoon came up and at 2pm, we were told it was our last day. There were 12-13 VERRRRRY pissed off people right there. We were supposed to work until 5pm, but most of the temps walked out. If I remember right, there were only 4-5 of us left. To make matters worse, I had bills to pay, along with gas and other stuff. Adding insult to injury, they had up a "Now Hiring" banner 2 1/2 weeks later.

Now, 14 years later, my fiance works for that company. I keep telling her to get the hell out, but.......... Does she listen?

Sorry to hear about your job. This time of year really sucks for employment :?

Thats the best quote I've heard in long time so I had to put in my sig. Sportscenter did a top 10 list of his best, take a look. It's pretty damn funny!

Thats crappy. The thing is if these were good business people, they know way ahead of time whats going on with their finances. I think more than half the time they keep it close to them and then spring it. It amazes me how some people can sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror.
When in doubt, DUCK!

some companys only give folks 39 hours, so they dont have to pay for full time insurance.. that always seems cheap to me..

Sorry to hear that ebake. Most companies won't/don't lay people off right before or right after Christmas. So you probably don't want to work for a company that does anyways. :( Keep your chin up, you'll see.......when one door closes another one opens. :)

Thats why they have money ...those fuckers don't like to spend it...That's how most buisness's are but worse is that's how alot of rich people are, they hire you to work per say on there home, then when your done they try and screw you down on the already agreed upon estimate and of course the job is already done!So hell they don't call it "new years" for nothing you'll just go out and kick some ass for the new year and look back and KNOW that it was all a blessing in disguise! 8)
