2008 CFB Preseason Top 5

Postby ScarabGator » Fri Jan 04, 2008 5:23 am

Here is my early college football top 5. The other thread got me all excited!!!

1. Florida. The Gators return too much talent and with another top 25 recruiting class coming up in February that will address the teams needs plus much needed experience gained for the young 2007 defense things will be clicking in Gainesville again. Can you say BCS???

2. Georgia. The hottest team in the country right now and everyone is coming back with even more experience. Knowshon Moreno should be a Heisman finalist and Matthew Stafford will be a Davy O'Brien finalist. The top2 teams will prove to the nation that the SEC is still the premier conference in College football.

3. USC. The Trojans will be loaded again in 2008 and will continue the momentum from 2007. John David Booty will be gone but Junior QB Mark Sanchez will not miss a beat.

4. Ohio State. The Buckeyes return a potent class that will feature Senior QB Todd Boeckman who showed tremendous progress as the starting QB in Columbus. With only 12 seniors departing this team will compete for another Big10 Championship.

5. Oklahoma. Even with the Fiesta Bowl upset the Sooners return a very deep team and an experienced QB with Sophmore Sam Bradford who made excellent progress as a freshman. He is probably the top freshman player in the nation.

This is my list, now what do you guys think and make sure to tell us why.

Wow. I am surprised you picked Florida for number 1. Shocking pick. Tell you what, win your own division in the SEC first, before you mouth off about national championships.

Oh look, another shock: Georgia. Hmm, I see a pattern here.

Why not throw in Arkansas, LSU and Auburn. ALL SEC all the time. See, football isn't played anywhere except in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida and Kentucky.

You need to let this Florida shit go. You are myopic.

This Bowl season, it appears the "tough SEC schedule" hasn't payed off.

I would have to think that Missouri is going to be up there. Most of the team, including Daniel, will be back. They can't beat Oklahoma, but I'm a believer that they could take Ohio State down without too much trouble.

I'm really looking forward to see what Rodriguez does with Michigan, with far greater recruiting classes than WV. :D I think it could bring the Big 10 out of the 1970's.
