I have a lot of close friends over there right now (one of my best friends). I just guess I really don't know what direction I'd take it in. Cool idea for a song though.

Keep trying, dude, and you can come up with something. Doesn't have to be a rah-rah jingoistic type of song, but maybe something from a soldier's point of view. One of best patriotic songs I've heard in the last year was "Blue Suede Shoes" from Winger IV. It's a beautiful and inspiring song... If you haven't heard it, here is a sample:

There is an acoustic version of it on their MySpace page -- just discovered this!

Oops... I actually did bust out the Winger! :P Try something like that, dude!

he eats it up...it always comes back

well I, let him loose
from his noose
don't wanna see him hanging around

It's been a while
Since I stepped in a pile
Until the other day...

When I felt my heart sink
As I smelt a big stink
That damn dog is historay...
:P

How's that for collaboration? :P

That version was cool Rip! Man, I loved the string work!!! I think that's better then the album version. I have the cd. I've always been a huge Winger fan. I think it sucks that as talented as they are, that they can barely fill local clubs. They seriously need new management!
The artist formerly known as Jim. :-)
