Is the best SP solo song and made me realise he didnt need the other guys. The top 5 for me would be

Captured
Oh Sherrie

Songs to tug the heart strings and make you proud to be a fan.

Long Live STEVE PERRY THE ONE TRUE VOICE OF JOURNEY.

Strung Out absolutely ROCKS (ever notice a similar sound in Queen's "Hammer to Fall"?)

What Was is a masterpiece - the last line "...it's a little too late bee-CAU-aus....weeel never change....whaaaat waaaaaaaaaaaas."

Damn! :D

Now this is a guy who has ambition.

Pretty good tune, Captured By The Moment.

Last time I ripped Street Talk out, the line "LA Motel; one sad mistake took Sam away" had me googling Cooke to see how he died (didn't know before).

The R&B-like add-ons My, My, My and Makes No Difference are also terrific for the remaster... real good cuts, imo has me wondering if The Alien Project might not have made it after all.

CBTM a great SP tune. Otis and Cooke references. Perry was a "soul man".

Love "Captured by the Moment" -especially the beginning - and the one I play the most on Street Talk.

I'm not Nora but I don't think she'd mind me answering...
Can't Let You Go was done with jazz guitarist Jeff Golub in 2003 on his Soul Sessions CD. Perry stopped by the studio where Jeff was recording...he listened and then told Jeff he was hearing a line for the song he was playing...Jeff had never met him before and was blown away...of course he said yes...he wanted Perry to sing....Perry just did a simple line "can't let you go" that he pretty much just repeated throughout parts of the song with just a little more impromtu adlib. Jeff thought it was great and it was recorded for the album. If I remember right...I believe they even did it in one take. It is very simple but Perry knew exactly what to give to the song and what not to....it was all that was needed....a very sexy sound.
