Vote for your favorite album of 1981...

"Escape" and "Fair Warning" almost made it for me but I'm going with "Moving Pictures" by Rush.

As much as I love Escape, I'm rolling with the Rush release here.

I know it was released in '80...but where the hell is Styx- Paradise Threater? It was released in late '80 but for some reason it was an '81 album. Would've still said Escape...but c'mon.

Some other notable ones are missing:

Hi Infidelity - REO Speedwagon
Paradise Theatre - Styx
Don't Say No - Billy Squier
Allied Forces - Triumph
Blizzard of Oz - Ozzy (Amazon says this was a 1981 release)
Get Lucky - Loverboy
Belladonna - Stevie Nicks
Precious Time - Pat Benatar
Fire of Unknown Origin - BOC

IMO 1981 was the best year ever for melodic rock. I'd be curious to see what Drew thinks.

EDIT - I see that Dave listed some of these under the 1980 poll. I got my list from Amazon, so who knows which one is correct.

Mob Rules 8)

As much as I love Escape, ANYTHING with Dio is gonna be my first choice over Journey.

Everybody should own a copy of Moving Pictures and Signals, at least.

I agree that Moving Pictures is a great record. I, of course, chose Escape followed very closely by Fair Warning. One of VH's best.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Didn't know that, don't care. If the rest of the garbage on that song is actually all one song, I officially like zero songs by them and only part of one. Happy? :P :x

I find it odd that out of everything Rush has done, you only like one song. Extremely hard to believe, maybe you need to check out more?
