OT Best dead band?

Postby Gordon from Edinburgh » Sat Jan 12, 2008 12:00 pm

What dead legends would make the best band?

I would have Phil Lynott on Bass,
Cozy Powell on Drums,
Jimi and SRV on guitars
Freddie on vox
and let Freddie do keys as well,

Great topic, but I'll need a day to figure this one out. I like this thread.

Hey! I like your line up dude - but to me it would be a hard driving bluesy thang - so, how about Janis Joplin on vox?

I think i would like that - a very heavy band - but with a very fine classy singer to give it melody........thank you for playing.

The line up with Delp intrigues me. Would they be doing originals or covers?

"Elvis was a narc, in the rhinestones after dark.
He did his best to keep Memphis drug-free.
He knew every pill he'd eat, would be one less on the street. Elvis took them all for you and me."

i love elvis and everything and i live here in memphis but he had the strangest ways of rationalizing things.imagine elvis stoned to the gills on vicodin, placidyl, valium, etc. barely able to string together a coherent sentence and he is sitting there with his deputy badge and powers given to him by the memphis police and he is sitting there telling his bodyguards (memphis mafia) he wants to get all the evil drug pushers off the street because they are no good and deserve to rot in jail, lol.its sort of funny because he could be very hypocritical and his bodyguards all stated these stories at different times.hell he even threatened his bodyguards one time when the drug store was closed that he was going to buy a bunch of drug stores just so he could have his pills when he wanted them, whew.in his later years the man had a hell of a temper due to all the stuff he ingested.

Yeah, put The King in there. SRV too...Hendrix.
And don't forget John Lennon, or Johnny Cash...Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Sinatra.
Maybe get Leiber & Stoller to do more writing...or at least, Brewer & Shipley.

later~

Holy shit! I like your lineup, although I might want Stevie Ray to sing and keep Mercury on keys.

I am very on board with this, except Keith Moon, not John Bonham.
Moonie can outdrum anyone, even Bonham.
