I picked up a book at the library yesterday & read this in it:
[quote] "We meet with Irving Azoff, the president of Giant Records, about whom people seem to delight in telling me scary things. How Irving once put a snake in some guy's briefcase. How Irving is the guy who said, "I never met an asshole in the record business I didn't like." How Irving has managed some "little bands," like the Eagles. Irving's nickname? The Poison Dwarf."
"Having heard all this, when we walk through the door I'm not surprised to discover that he's short, but I am surprised when he gives us a big smile and claps his hands together, saying, "Oh, goody." [unquote]
This book called, "Everything I'm cracked up to be: A Rock & Roll Fairy Tale" is written by Jen Trynin, a singer/songwriter teling her story of being wined & dined by the music labels...I havent' finished reading it but it appears she was a rising Rock star & then just as suddenly dropped. It talks about the way the music business works...in other words slimey.
I never heard of this singer but apparently she had songs on the radio & videos on MTV.
