Arnelian, where in the Philipines are you from? Are people there talking much of Arnel?

A little off topic here, but for those who have been mentioning accents - a lot of talk about French accents, british accents, etc....I do think, however, that to a "western" audience, an "eastern" accent such as an asian accent or indian accent is more noticeable and perhaps a little more hard to accept than a "western" accent (british, french, etc) to a western audience. That being said, as I mentioned, Jon and Neal will likely step up a bit more introducing songs, is my guess.

Arnel can sound like Jackie Chan in Rush Hour 2 while he speaks between songs as long as he sounds somewhere between Augeri and Perry during them. 8)

I would say that's the best to describe his voice. Its resembles both Augeri and Perry meshed together. No ONE can replicate Perry. Its impossible. 8)

I'm guessing anywhere from Metro Manila to Olongapo, in that general location. Because Arnelian is obviously at where there is computers and electricity. I'm just wondering how the brown outs effect on-line usage over there. I'm sure it would be a real bitch to type up something and then the brown out hits a moment or so right before the message was sent. I'm thinking that's why we don't hear from these people on a regular basis. They're sitting around waiting for the power to come back on.

Not much is up man. Since you were off line for a while riding out the brown out, you missed it but I'll catch you up on the handle business. Handles are like women to me. I got to go through a few before I find the one that fits just right. Well I found the one that's a keeper so there you have it. Oh Arnelian. What do you think of my av? Pretty tasty ey. You still haven't answered my question. Hungry? I know you are but I thought I'd ask anyways. I chose that av just for you, that's how special you are to me.....NG. You and I both know what I mean. I chose that av so you can print off a copy of it, smear some of your favorite bagoong on it and have a meal, you know. That's what brothers are for right. God you put me in a good mood. You know I've been so wrong about you for so long man. Remember the time we were up in Wallis fucking them ho's over by the water tower that one time in the rain? Course you do. That was some wild shit and we couldn't get back cause the bridge was washed out. We ended up hitching a ride back to the other side on that boat. You know the ho's I'm talking about, we met them at the movie house showing Chop Chop Lady. I know you remember that.

Anyways, I'm glad you turned out good, for a while there I thought you were going to go no where. But you got to understand, when you took up that job as headboy, I thought that's as far as you were ever going to go. Everyone else took computer progamming, but not you, you wanted to work your way up starting at the ultimate bottom. I'm talking stainless steel urnal bottom bro! I admire that. Glad you were able to move beyond that. Have a good one and don't forget the av. Use some of that recycled paper with the shards of plastic in it, that will give you extra fiber.

Andrew, being the journalist that you are, and a fine one at that, how about calling, you know, the phone, call the Zoo, and ask them what the vibe is like. Or do you want me to do it? I have all night brother.

100% true. They are clones. Arnel is a clone, Augeri was a clone - and that's what my friends, and my brother said as well, my mates are not even Journey fans, but can see through it. And it's just an indication on how good Steve Perry really was.

JSS on the other hand, is the only singer Journey had who was original.

JSS wasn't a clone, but he invoked some cool "Perryisms", and I think he did so out of respect.

Rollie was an original.

Let's just wait till he has his first interview in America

Postby ttango1 » Wed Jan 16, 2008 5:28 pm

It's funny how people skip right over the fact that all of his videos are from the Philippines so they make a big deal of him sounding way off. In the Philippines, those interviews will sound native because they are, hence emphasis on Tagalog and Tagalog-sounding english.

The lone American Interview was for a newspaper with no sound-bytes there. He'll work on it and when he is asked for an interview from American TV. He'll be completely understandable.

No matter what the zealots say, he kicks all their asses when it comes to singing.
As Chris Tucker says in Fridays, "AND YOU KNOW THIS...MAN!" 8)
Pineda -"I'm just here to celebrate the legacy of Journey."

See we have the experience of retrospection to know what Augeri was. Earlier he was called an imitator as well. I'll reserve my opinion whether Arnel is a parrot, till there is a record to listen to. 8)

The good thing is that Neal has put his foot in the door and he'll be responsible for what comes out of this incarnation. Just like he did when they brought Augeri in. We had nothing to do with the decision on that either.

If by sounding similar to Perry he is a parrot, that's a good thing if you're a classic Journey fan. ;)
