You are grappling about over who? Sebastian Bach? Haha, why not just get your old Quiet Riot records out? Maybe White Lion or even Krokus.

Come on already? Dokken, White Lion, Great White, Skid Row, are all shit.

 Great post Dean. You forgot the Bulletboys though. The 10,000 hairbands that flooded MTV in the late 80's turned my stomach. The only thing I disagree with is Great White. They're pretty good, "Can't Get There From Here" was an excellent cd. :D

That's just too damn funny considering time spent on some topics at this forum.. :P

Disagree (shit stirrers  )

This has shades of the Journey issue written all over it. Velvet Revolver is guns and roses without Axl. The question is who's pipes are best suited to front their group? For me, Bach has the right vocal character for their kind of music. Because their music is so derivative of GNR, I hear the ghost of Axl on their tracks and Weiland's chords are to small for the music. Bach has the power to match Axl and would be a perfect fit for Velvet's music.

DUMP WEILAND!

Interesting, but it won't happen. They're looking for the marketability of a supergroup and unfortunately, while Jeff certainly has the talent, he doesn't have the name recognition with the masses. Bach on the other hand... Very marketable (in combination with VR).

I'm pretty certain that Bach doesn't much, if any more, name recognition or marketability than JSS does.

I don't know how you draw that conclusion.

When you think marketability, you have to think casual fan, not hardcores. Casual fans don't know the name Jeff Scott Soto here in the states, but they do know Sebastian Bach.

Fans of Velvet Revolver are mostly comprised of fans of GNR in their heyday. No way you're going to tell me those same metal heads don't know who Bach is. Bach is still out there, all over VH1 doing shows like "supergroup" and recently opened for GNR on their tour. Jeff, unfortunately, never really made it big here in the states. He's more well known overseas.

Metal Underground) This one is interesting as Duff's comments about the Stone Temple Pilots reunion leave some doubt about the future of Velvet Revolver. Metal Underground has the story: UK's Classic Rock magazine has tracked down VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan and quizzed him about VR singer Scott Weiland's absence from the group's performance at the Sundance Film Festival and the rumors of a reunion of Weiland's previous band, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS.
On STONE TEMPLE PILOTS reforming: "That's the rumor that I've heard too. Good for him. You can't plan ahead in this thing and if you do, you're going to be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love playing live and we love this band, but I don't have expectations any more. This is a great band and I'm proud to be a part of it, but it doesn't define me anymore."

Although there has been no official confirmation from anyone involved, Weiland told the Miami Herald over the weekend to be on the lookout for a STONE TEMPLE PILOTS reunion in the months ahead. The band members are reportedly on good terms again after their less than friendly break-up in 2002
