I agree with Dan. I dig BAD ENGLISH, but it's a bit of a "who cares" with the average fan.

Got tired of seeing more political threads than Journey threads on this music forum, so I thought I'd try and get us back on track.

Like many of you, I personally am still on the fence about going to see another Journey show. I won't even consider it until I've heard Arnel with the band, but even more importantly, I'm tired of the dirty dozen tour. I need to hear new music (of at least TBF quality) from the band both on CD and on tour.

Knowing how I feel, I started asking myself what, if anything, would lure me to take the wife to see a show again? The only answer is basically what they've been doing themselves lately:

A double feature tour.

Then I started looking at things from Neal's perspective. Obviously the group is out there to work for a living. They want the most buck for their bang and we want the most bang for our buck, so what's the happy middle ground?

Now, I don't know what the status of Neal and Jon's relationship is with John Waite, and this may have already been suggested before, but think about it. 3/4 of Journey are already Bad English. Assuming Neal, Jon and Deen are physically up to the touring challenge, this would not only be a financial windfall for them, but would center an entire tour on the musical collaboration between Neal and Jon over the years. Touring as both the opening and headlining act allows them to reap all the finances from the double ticket tour and we the fans get to see a hell of a show. Again, assuming they are up to the physical demands of such an outing.

(NOTE: I only left Ross out of that equation because I assumed they would go and hire a session bassist to fill in for Ricky Phillips (who will be on tour with Styx).

So is that a ticket you guys would be interested in seeing? If yes, say it. If not, put up your dream double feature tour. Time to start talking about music again peeps!

Dream Theater would probably be a better fit as a double ticket, but I honestly haven't a clue how well known they are. I never knew them to be a big band. Don't even think they've had a radio hit (have they? anyone?).

Daughtry would never tour with Journey. They're selling albums and have consistent radio play, Journey is the opposite. I think they'd sooner partner with another contemporary group that is also selling albums, like Greenday or Nickelback.

I'd love to see them tour with Foreigner and Toto. Foreigner sounds amazing with the new singer (almost as good as they did in Lou's heyday), Toto is still kicking some serious ass, and we could top off the night with some new tunes from Journey. THAT would be a show I'd pay $500 to sit front row center on! Too bad Toto sounds like they aren't touring here in the States anymore.

That's MY dream concert. Well, for me that's one of many dream concerts, but for this thread...this is it!

I WOULD LOVE to see Dream Theater and Journey together, that's two of my top five favorite bands...

Dream Theater have had some very minor success on the charts, reaching like #19 or something on Billboard Mainstream Rock charts or something. Their songs "Pull Me Under," "Another Day," "As I Am," "Constant Motion," and "Forsaken" have all gotten mainstream play or are right now.

Still, Dream Theater would have a hell of a draw I'd say... they've got a fairly big and loyal following.

Journey and Foreigner is a solid coupling. They toured together back when Augeri first joined the band. Lou Graham had just returned to the group (briefly). The only thing that gives me pause is it would be a double ticket tour with not one but both bands who no longer have their original lead singers.

I saw Foreigner with Styx and Def Leppard last year in Chicago and they absolutely blew the crowd away. They just pumped out hit after hit after hit. No ballads and no talking between songs. It was amazing. They completely stole the show even though they were the first band to play. The idea of non-stop playing kept the crowd energy maximized and by not playing ballads you felt exhausted after their set. Truly a great idea. Ironically, the ONE time they stopped to introduce the band members, Kelly referred to Jason Bonham as John Bonham. He looked like he was in one Southwest Airlines' "Wanna get away?" commercials.

All of these descriptions and reviews of recent Foreigner shows are making me want to go see them more and more. Sounds like everything I'd want a Foreigner concert to be like. Sure, there's only one original member, but I really don't mind that fact as long as they pump out some classic Foreigner hard rock. Everyone in the band is an incredible performer and musician.

Any plans on releasing an album soon? At all? I'd love to have some new Foreigner music.

Journey with Foreigner would be sick.

I'm also still keen on Journey/Night Ranger/Loverboy, and the Journey/Queen co-headline would be simply epic.

They did this in 1981 at the Rose Bowl! It was Journey, Triumph, B.O.C., and Aldo Nova.

I'm still hoping for Loverboy and Foreigner opening for Journey. I've seen the new Foreigner twice now and they are really good. And I love Loverboy's new album, so I think this would be a great tour.
