I think you can know what went on. If you're willing to discuss it, then great, but I won't push it if you don't want to.

What about the Bible to you think is not fact? Just curious.

My personal belief that many stories in the Bible are metaphorical, eg. The Loafs and Fishes - "A Little bit of food goes along way" is my personal opinion on what story is supposed to mean.

However i do believe in God..just not the Bible, i just believe that there is something there. I dont personaly believe Jesus was the "son" of god, i just think he was a healer.

OK...Fair enough. For someone who was just a healer, though, he sure made some claims that made it sound like he was claiming to be God. I'm not trying to start an argument here. I've just never understood the whole "Jesus was just a good teacher, healer, person, etc." argument.

I wouldn't count on that. I expect the world to end in my lifetime. Just a personal gut feeling I have.

One can believe the end of the world is coming and not necessarily be fearful of it. Personally, I have no idea when that will be and don't pretend to. Anyone that does is fooling themselves.

I don't know when. I never said that, but I don't see with all that is going on in this world how he would allow it to go on much longer. Not fearful, well a little, but I think that is quite normal.

I know, sorry. I didn't mean it in a mean way, just clarifying for the other person. Thanks. :D

Dave I see you coming and don't need to be bible thumped. My uncle is a minister and I was raised in the church.

Scary...my mom used to say the same thing. She suffered greatly from depression and started dwelling on the bible...she just got worse and talked of the world coming to an end...you couldn't tell her otherwise or change her outlook....was sad.....she made her own world end for years living in fear and negativity. She's been dead a number of years now and the world's still spinning.

IMO, there is no heaven above or hell below..."God" dwells inside each of us...and the "devil" if you let it. Life is how you want it to be..you can make your own " heaven "or live your own " hell"....and people spread whichever they are living to others...if they are good,.... people who want to help where they can, live by some rules of operation, like having a moral compass that they follow, and try to show love, have a good heart and do what they can to make the world a better place for themselves and others, then they can feel peaceful, happy and content..and have "heaven" within....and leave a mark on the world when they leave it by what they did to help it and within the hearts of those they love and that love them...and those that come after....that is the philosophy of " living on forever in the kingdom of heaven". Those that do not want to do anything but cause problems and have hate in their hearts and minds, and go out to just take from the world and not give back, and those that leave a mark by doing damage to themselves or others.....they live in their own "hell" and will only be remembered for dwelling there and the "evil" that they have caused. We have the power of "God" within each and everyone of us...we have to be strong as people and trust and believe in ourselves and do what we can to make changes for the better. "God" will not end the world...we as people will do it to ourselves unless we come together to make changes, learn some diplomacy, and quite fighting over who's right and who's wrong and end up in a stalemate without solutions. Don't let the naysayers strip you of your power to do what is necessary and have you believe that all hope is lost...keep the power within you and think for yourselves and then act on where you see a problem when you can...go out and do something about it...and don't be afraid. You gotta stay optimistic and believe things can be better...and make them better within yourself and for others around you. Live positivity.

I hope this entire statement is tongue-in-cheek but I'm not going to "Bible thump" anyone.

The only things I agree with in this entire statement are "don't be afraid" and that all hope is not lost. Other than that, I can't agree with this at all. I'm not going to bother making my point, though, because it would probably just be misconstrued as Bible-thumping.

You might wanna check out John 3:16. Sounds like she was a believer and is quite alright.

it was tongue-in-cheek...and like I said, it is my opinion..and you have yours. My point? Let the force be with you. 8)Too bad you don't agree that we have the power to change anything .... guess we should just wait for God to come down and clean up our mess for us, right? ...and that you don't agree about having the power of God within us..or that we can live own heaven or hell?..that surprises me.

Yes, I know what it says...and no.. if I want to go by your rational and believe everything the bible says literally, then she would not be alright now and would be in "hell", since she took her own life....she gave up and had the bible open in her lap when I found her. I don't take the bible literally and don't believe she is now "burning for eternity" somewhere below us in an inferno. How she ended up was to burn herself with her decision to end her life...and by that decision...how she left herself "burning" in the memories of those she left behind.

I'm sorry that happened to your mother. Irregardles of how she died, if she was a believer God was with her.

She was a good hearted person.....she just took the bible too literally and listened to fire and brimstone preachers too much..... didn't have the strength and courage to believe and trust in herself.... she also just looked to something outside for answers instead of dealing with things and finding the answers within herself and she blamed the world for things and didn't take responsibility for her own actions.. her mistakes and learn to forgive herself for them....she looked to Jesus for forgiveness and not within herself so that she could move on. She also viewed the world in a negative light and wasn't strong in fighting it and she let herself remain a victim through life . She didn't see that she had the power...and only she could change her own outlook and become stronger by it. She looked for love from Jesus and from men to give her self worth instead of loving herself first. She couldn't see that it was up to her how she would live life....she couldn't see that she had the power of God within herself the whole time. So yes, "God" was within her...always was. She just needed to believe in herself and not give up.
