Halford is always entertaining. Here's the mp3 for anyone that wants it -

I like the song but I get a kick out of the following...

1 - Kevin DuBrow's ridiculous pink jacket.
2 - Geoff Tate's dorky-looking hairdo
3 - The ridiculous hand gestures by DuBrow and Blackie Lawless.
4 - How bad Craig Goldy and Eddie Ojeda's solos were compared to everyone else's. Brad Gillis' second solo was also crap.

That being said, I've heard the following about the session for this tune...That Neal smoked the other guys and I believe I remember George Lynch raving about his playing and also that the other singers were blown away by how good a singer Geoff Tate was.

The inclusion of the characters from Spinal Tap definitely contributed to the legitimacy of this effort.

Um...Laura. Is that a good thing? Hasselhof tends to make ME want to eat Wienerschnitzel, listen to Bauhaus, and go buy a Trans Am.

Tans Ams are cool. I had the 1980 Indy Pace car. I loved that car. :(

Eddie Ojeda had to be the weakest link there - i remember reading interviews at the time with those involved - most of those guitarists were in awe of Mr Schon - including Malmsteen who said on the day that Schon was amazing.....Personally, i think the best bit in the whole song is Paul Shortino when he sings that line "and we all wanna touch a rainbow".......

Man, when they did that, I remember seeing some making-of special about it, and the guitarist from Spinal Tap was talking about Yngwie... I STILL remember what he said... haha! Something like:

"Hearing him play makes me want to quit playing guitar and use it for a coffee table or something. I mean, why does he have to call himself Yngwie J. Malmsteen? To distinguish himself from all the other Yngwie Malmsteens out there?"

You should get QR III then! A really good album, and a different turn for Quiet Riot.

What the hell is it with Melodic Rock acts and food/dishes tonight? I blame Rip Rokken.

Have you ever heard the footage of his drunken tirade on a stewardess on some flight his band was on? He said something to the effect of he was going to "unleash the fucking fury" or something like that. He actually has an album by that name, too.

Yeah, that is a classic sound file. Right up there with Bobby Knight's expletive-laden halftime tirade.

Yes, it's hillarious! Then I read an interview where they asked him about it, and I think he pretty much admitted they were drunk and out of line, and also that the album of similar name was an inside joke reference to the incident on the airplane.

Vivian Campbell

Postby Indyjoe » Tue Feb 12, 2008 8:52 am

I LOVE this video - thank you Dean!! Especially the footage of Vivian Campbell (been a fan for a very long time) Saw him last night in a little club in L.A. playing with his band, CLOCK - they were FANTASTIC! Vivian does alot of the singing in that band. The bass player and drummer in the band had just come from backing up Tina and Beyonce on the grammy awards. Incredible band!

Vivian Campbell is an incredible talent!

I think it actually came inside a box of Wheaties. :P Seriously, a few rock stars have done girlie mags -- Peter Steele from Type O' Negative was one of them.
