Like Yak is regarding the Loons? That guy is amazing...lays in wait to hurl abuse and smoke the Loons out of their holes.

I'm afraid a great wing of the old guard, Yak and NoMoreTails are gone.

Haven't heard from either in months.

Oh Sherrie wrote"Journey is no more Journey to me now than they were with Augeri. Augeri was a good enough singer, he just didn't do it as a Journey frontman for me and it wasn't Journey to me with him in it. Same thing with Arnel."

Oh Sherrie, I can share your feelings in that statement/post to some extent. I have the upmost respect for Steve Perry as a singer songwriter and performer and for all he has done in the band. I did have a chance to see them a few times live with SP.
I have posted and gone on record here as saying that I like Steve Augeri and support him. I completely respect your opinion in that you did not enjoy him as the frontman for Journey.
I did and I thought he did an incredible job. To me it is not Journey without SP or SA and I cannot support the decicions and choices that they have made. I can relate and understand your feelings even though I enjoyed Journey with Steve Augeri and the cds that they did together. To me it has not been Journey since the last show I saw with them in 06.
I have seen the youtube clips and I do not feel the way I felt with SA as the singer. It is not Journey to me.
I was hoping Heart would be doing some songs from bad animals and brigade, seeing the current set list I do not think I will be attending the tour.

I got what you meant lparn. A lot of Augeri fans feel that way. It's the one thing the Perry and Augeri fans have in common. Image

Thanks. I did see them with Perry also so I can appreciate it in respect to both singers.
I am sure AP is talented, however it just is not Journey to me and I can not see spending the money when it is not
the same and after all that has happened and not fun. It is too bad that might keep away someof the friends that I have met over theyears. Too bad all around.

i feel like people are going to be surprised when they see arnel fronting journey... he is a good fit. to say he's not journey without seeing him first makes no sense. he hasn't even performed a single show yet. }:C\

Greetings, I ran across this on a rare opportunity to catch up on things here. I occasionally skim through some topics but haven't had time to really keep up. Good to see you guys still maning the front.
I'm keeping an open mind to the new lineup and am looking forward to hearing the upcoming releases, though I'm not sure I'll travel the necessary distance should the next tour be a greatest hits fest...I'll be interested to hear how Arnel does on them, but I can hear that on disc.

Not necessarily this Augeri fan. I was among the biggest SA fans around, still am, and have a great deal of respect and appreciation for the talent Perry had... bottom line, Neal Schon was Journey for me before SA came along, and Neal Schon is still Journey. I have an open mind about Arnel. Perry has left the building.

You were among those who criticized SA the most for having the gall to take Perry's place in this band and "imitate??" him and you'll probably do the same to Arnel without giving him a chance. However, if it were JSS, since he sounded "different" and you like him as a person, it's ok. If it were Jeremey, who is your friend and sounds even more like Perry, possibly more intentionally than anyone who has ever been considered, it's even better because he "does them justice." Sounds hypocritical to me.
Not trying to start a debate that I won't be present to finish, but really, this view is ridiculous.
My conclusion based on everything I've ever read from you, you're a Perry fan, not a Journey fan, they just happen to be the band of which he was 1/5.

To Jeremey, should he come across this post, no disrespect intended, I'm sorry things didn't work out.

That's a 500-foot homerun.
Should I be criticized for merely doing so without adding, then this is my patented OhSherrie snerky-emiticon-only reply.
