OT-AC/DC studio rumors again

Postby Angiekay » Sat Feb 23, 2008 1:15 am

AC/DC will enter the studio next month to begin recording its first new album in eight years, according to Spinner.com. The Web site caught up with bassist Cliff Williams at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Los Angeles, where he said, "God I'm ready," when asked about the band's plans to begin recording on March 1st. As for touring, however, Williams was less sure about the group's intentions. He explained, "If we go out again or when we go out again, you just never know. We've been around a long time, so we're going to get together and get in the studio and I fully expect we will (tour). I don't mean to be so negative about that."

AC/DC recently re-opened its official Web site for business, although the site dismissed rumors that the band was playing some secret European shows this winter.
Reports surfaced earlier in January that AC/DC was nearly finished recording its next album, but a spokesperson for the band's Australian label, Albert Records, denied the story.

I thought "Stiff Upper Lip" was a decent album, though Brian Johnson's voice was shot. Actually, his voice has been shot for about 20 years. I'm surprised that guy can still talk, let alone sing, the way he screams.

Agreed.
This is part 1 of a cycle of leak/deny that's been going on for 5 years now.

I dig Stiff Upper Lip, too, Daveo.

This band hasn't been AC/DC since Young passed away. No thanks.

I think you mean Scott.

Anyway, both "Back in Black" and "For Those About to Rock We Salute You" are just as good as anything done before. If you were talking about anything since then, you'd have a point, but those two albums are just as good as the rest of their stuff, in my opinion.

Brian Johnson's voice is shredded. If AC/DC goes into the studio, they'll need a new singer.

I nominate Jesse James Dupree of Jackyl.

Yeah, Bon Scott. That's the guy. I really need to Wikipedia some stuff before I type it out, but I'm too lazy.

Wrong again!

Anyway, I do agree that Back in Black was outstanding, so I stand corrected...again.
