OT: Gay Iranian denied asylum

This guy's boyfriend was executed in Iran and, if not given asylum, will likely go back to Iran and also face execution. I find it curious that the Netherlands, a country that prides itself on its openness, has denied asylum to this guy. Regardless of what you believe about homosexuality, this is wrong.

Oh yeah...One little nugget for liberals on the board. The first place I heard about this was on Glenn Beck's show. Haven't heard it anywhere else.

This can't be right. Amadenijad said Iran doesn't have any homosexuals. I guess what he meant was, they're working on it.

Yeah, they're working on it like Hitler worked on the Jews. How fucking sad is a society like that? I don't support homosexuality perse but that's not an excuse to execute someone.

This was not a call by the dutch government, it's a european union decision that when a person is denied asylum in a country within the eu he will not be eligible for asylum in any other eu country. So in this case England is the country that denied his asylum.

That may be an EU rule but The Netherlands still has a call on this or the story wouldn't be so big. If they had any backbone, they would break that rule and let this guy in.
