Bingo! I'm always thinking the same thing. It's not like they can't afford a driver with all the cake they make. Just STUPID. :x

Proof right there what alcohol can do to some. Physically and how it can affect your life.
I don't touch the stuff because I have seen it affect way to many people close to me.

Why the hell didn't he have the woman drive? According to the article, Heather gave the cops the OK for the woman to drive Ava home...so she obviously was sober. He could've avoided this whole mess.

Yeah, he probably can't afford a driver since he just dropped $3.2 million on a condo in the building across from my office in Philly.

That's really sad. I'm glad I saw the tour last weekend. He played beautifully, but you could tell he was still struggling.

Actually..just another very sad situation..another talent being lost by this disease.. If you didn't know who that mug was of..would you have figured it out right after looking at it?
Again..this puts it all into perspective that 'famous' talented people are really no different than we are..it just plays out in public for them.
Everytime I see something like this it just reminds me why I have never been in awe of 'famous' people.
People are always in awe of me how normal I am around people we 'think' we should be 'star' struck around.
I am more in awe of people who overcome this sort of thing..those are the true hereos and who we should be looking up to.

I love the commentary on one of those sites:

"With a mug shot like that, I guess pleading guilty is out of the question!"

Was it on this board the argument of 'Alcholism' was really a disease (vs. a choice?) Everyone's allowed to have their vices, but they have to choose to be an asshole sometimes (i.e. driving under the influence, or when they should be acting as 'parents') I'm all for getting bombed at my own home, after work, or generally when it's appropriate (with all the bullshit we have to deal with in this life, it is definitely appropriate sometimes), but far too many people get themselves into trouble with alcohol, or act like complete pricks under the influence. Similary with other drugs too.

Richie may be cleared....taken from tmz.com

Richie Sambora may dodge a bullet in his DUI bust earlier this week, and not because of legal footwork -- because he may not have been DUI.

Sambora volunteered to submit to a blood alcohol test after he was popped in Laguna Beach. It may take a week before we know the results. But several sources -- who know what the alleged drunk drank -- tell TMZ Richie simply didn't drink much at all before the cops stopped him, and the blood test may register below the .08 legal limit in Calif.

True enough, if he was driving erratically and had any alcohol in him, he could still theoretically be charged with DUI. But that may not be in the cards either.

There's a buzz that Heather may go into court to wrestle away some of Richie's custody of their kid, Ava. Our sources say, ain't gonna happen. Part of the reason -- Heather has her own issues. But the biggest reason is that we're told Richie may be the best dad in rock & roll -- he has flown from gigs in Japan to see Ava play softball.

He still shouldn't have been drinking with a kid in the car, but... this is good news. I hope he continues with the help he needs and hires a driver.

Oh my... he looks terrible. Not just this particular photo, but his whole face - he looks like he's been through a few.

Not happy to see (or read) this (big fan of solo work), but DWI is a dumb thing to do.
