I think it sounds great overall... I did notice that the lead vocal is a bit more "present" or "up front" in the mix, and the backvocals are not as layered and stereofied as the Perry era stuff... so both appear to they sit differently in the mix... other than that it sounds great....

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Pretty much everything is protooled... and Autotuned.... has been for the last 15 years...

"Be Good To Yourself" and "Believe In Me"???? :shock: Yep, clear as day to these ears!!! :roll:

I immediately thought that when I first heard it yesterday. :( I'm sorry, everybody, sure it sounds like Journey, but I thought that I already have these songs in my collection, so why would I go and pay for them again???? :-P

Even though I haven't purchased a single thing from them since the last show I attended (a couple of years ago), I feel like I was just ripped off, for God's sake. :shock: I know that they re-recorded the classics (yeah, whatever), but now it seems that they can't even record an original tune anymore. :!:

I honestly had to stop listening to it, because it was starting to really piss me off. :evil: If I want to hear the same thing over and over, I'll go pull out the original recordings (hell, to me, they're better!). :? Nothing to get all excited over, IMO. Good yeah, but (also) done already. :P

Not impressed. :::yawn:::

Sure it sounds good and I'll buy the new stuff ...sometime this summer. No big hurry.
I really hope that this song isn't the best on the album. It's the same old crap. Nothing 'fresh' about it. Seems to be just phrases and hooks from the catalogue regrouped. Neals guitar, which I love, isn't anything new. And Deen's snare still sounds muted and dull.

But I fully understand that yt isn't good quality.
We'll see...

THANK GOD they did that. Journey ballads are good, but come on, Journey's a ROCK band. Arnel's voice sure sounds WAY out front. Kind of waters it down a bit. Could just be the recording.

Thankfully someone posted the lyrics on YouTube.
"Loves a promise that he made. In his heart it sill remains" - the song features Cain at his trite lyrical best and Arnel's diction unfortunately renders it unintelligible shit. I thought he was saying something vastly different.

Luckily, the studio version of "After All These Years" is now on YouTube and sounds fantastic.
