Maybe because the foundation of this man's theology is hate and bigotry. I listened to his full sermon given on a Palm Sunday. I've never heard such seething hatred coming from a man of God or so many ignorant fools cheering him on. He is a despicable human being. He tells his congregation they are oppressed and it's all the fault of the rich white man. Meanwhile, he's having his $1.5M 10,000 sq. foot mansion built in a rich white neighborhood and owns 2 Mercedes valued at $140K. Hypocrite much? He's a hate peddler, making a fortune from his foolish congreation. He is not a man of God.

Obama figured out Wright's angle, but it's probably too late. You see, Wright does not want Obama to win. That is as plain as day. Wright recognized that Obama had a chance to win and started the derailment process immediately. Obama winning would have proven everything that Wright preaches wrong and he simply couldn't have that. Wright is exponentially better off if he can continue his divisive, "all whites, the government, and the police hate blacks" message.

I don't even know if that's calculated. Wright is the epitomy of arrogance and egomania. I think he wants to soak in the spotlight for as long as possible and he doesn't really care if he hurts Barack Obama in the process.

I personally believe the theory that Obama joined this church for black "streed cred" and for political purposes. Unfortunately for him, it came back to bite him in the ass. I doubt that Obama believes this bullshit that Wright spews, but I think his wife is completely drenched in this ideology.

Telling his "people" that the US government invented the AIDS virus to kill them is healthy? Comparing the US to Al Qaeda is healthy? He is certifiable. He throws in a bible quote every 10 minutes or so, but the main purpose of his sermons is to give political/anti American speeches.

For someone who is seemingly a 'conservative' you have a very warped view on the concept of governmental restraint. Let me clue you in on something...it doesn't exist. While you might think that the patriot act is good for us, the truth of the matter is that it protects us from an imaginary threat while seeking to slowly strip certain liberties from the public. You might want to actually read the patriot act(s) for yourself before repeating rush limbaugh drivel. But the fact remains that front-line freedoms/liberties removed in the patriot act are only the first step. When the powers that be feel the general public has accepted their new found constrictions, they'll dream up some new found boogie man to come up with another round of freedom constrictions....

It seems that Conservatives understand this concept with gun-control. Almost all conservatives are unwilling to give an inch with gun control, knowing that when a certain type of magazine or stock gets banned, it's only the beginning of a systematic constriction of 2nd amendment rights. Yet they belly over on Bush's absolutely disgracefully unconstitutional patriot act.

That was merely a footnote in the larger context of his sermon. He didn't tell the masses to take arms against the government because they've been infected with AIDS. It was mentioned in the middle of a laundry list of where our government has failed to meet the ideals it was founded upon. So the "aids thing" is pretty stupid. Big deal.
