OT: Cyclone in Burma

Postby Rip Rokken » Tue May 06, 2008 8:44 am

What the news agencies aren't reporting is something many of us already know: It was no cyclone that tore thru Burma -- it was RAMBO.

Seriously, I watched a clip of Laura Bush talking about sending all this U.S. aid their way, and basically our higher calling as savior for every nation that hates us, followed by a detailed list of all the atrocities that the Burmese government is committing against their people in order to push thru a new Constitution which effectively locks them into unquestionable rule.

And my question is -- why the hell are we offering to send them U.S. tax dollars? I'm all for aiding those who have been hurt by the cyclones, but they better make damn sure not one red cent is handed to the government, or the people will not see it. Remember the thugs in Black Hawk Down, and how they used foreign aid to surpress and control their own people?

I'm sick of this kinda thinking...

More political rhetoric. Do not throw stones at glass houses. I recollect New Orleans having a natural disaster with slow response.

From FoxNews.com:

"The ruling junta in Myanmar, a country also known as Burma, has spurned the international community for decades but has now appealed for aid."

Confirms what I was feeling in my gut..
