ive noticed alot of people seem to really prefer the perry controlled lp's and was wondering what everyones favorite era was.
im sure most peoples favorite is the period in which they found the band.
ill keep this to the perry period because that is the most popular.

I voted from Escape to Frontiers, but where are the options for SA era, or current incarnation? I wouldn't go so far as to say that personally, but some others may? Nah... I can't really see that happening.

I said Escape/Frontiers era, although Perry started getting more control around the Frontiers era (album cover.)
According to someone in here (and I'd like confirmation to know for sure,) Trial By Fire's heavy on the ballads was a result of the record company wanting more ballads than rockers and not that Perry was controlling that per se. Perry probably had his most control on the Raised on Radio album, but when I think of Journey eras, I usually think of them in terms of who the line up was at that particular time. In that respect, you'd almost have to put RoR in it's own era and have Trial By Fire in with the Escape/Frontiers era.

Can Raised on Radio-Trial By Fire really be classed as an era?

It was more just nothingness..

I was wondering the same thing!!

Since SA is not there....I'd have to go with Infinity-Evolution.

Even though I enjoy some of all eras, it's E5C4P3 & Frontiers for me.

Of the 3 choices it's definitely Escape-Frontiers, but I would vote for "now" if I had the choice. While the present day lineup isn't really close to that era's lineup I don't live in the past. I'm enjoying the hell out of the shows, music, experiences and people I've met. For that, I'm thankful...to all eras. Soto included. Thank you, Jeff.

I think if there were any one concert I could have seen, it would have been Escape. I love EVERY song off of that album. It's always bugged me that I never got a chance to see them with Perry. I got big into Journey in '87, but by then it was all over! Oh well, I think this incarnation is as close as I'll ever come. It's also the last one (I think) we'll ever see. I'm going to try to enjoy it as much as possible while it lasts!

ROR-TBF are my 2 favorite albums, while I realize Escape-Frontiers are their most popular and which were their best work.
