Beeping Sound in Faithfully?

Postby kmjrr » Mon Jun 16, 2008 12:17 am

I haven't seen this brought up - Has anyone noticed the beeping sound at the end of Faithfully, both on the re-record and the DVD? It sounds like someone's kitchen timer is going off.

This is intentionally recorded in the mix. On the re-record of Faithfully, you can begin to hear it at 2:59, beep-beep, and about every 2 seconds afterward, 3:01 beep-beep, 3:03 beep-beep, 3:05, 3:07... 3:24.

Sure, but they aren't in the original recording. On the DVD, you hear it at about 49:50 and after, and Jon's playing the piano, not the keyboard. It just doesn't seem to fit in my opinion.

The original recording has the same kinds of notes (arpeggios), but the keyboard sound is different, as well as the mix.

As for live, keyboard sounds are often pre-recorded and auto-triggered to play, for a fuller sound.

If you're referring to the 1:56 mark that's feedback and it's intentional. I love the timing of it. Fits the song remarkably well.

Yep. Put on some headphones and turn it up. You'll hear a whole keyboard melody going on and those two notes just pierce through the rest of the music.

Yeah, that didn't both me... Re: Faithfully, didn't pick that up (nor any real flaws recording wise from the DVD), I was annoyed by the hi-hat/click track sound in the beginning of Faithfully and Open Arms, re-records[/i]
