Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

I've seen many comments on the internet claiming that Perry will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009, I haven't seen any legitimate proof. Does anyone know if this is true at all. I'd think Journey would be inducted before him. Theyv'e had a longer string of hits than Perry did. I was just wondering if there was any truth to the claim of him being inducted.

I think SP's name comes up because in 2009 he would have fulfilled the FIRST criteria for RNR Hall of Fame, and that is the 25-year time mark (his solo ST came out in 1984). Doesn't mean he's going to even be nominated, let alone inducted.

pretty funny, why would perry be inducted as a solo artist before being recognized with journey ?

thats just silly. is not like his solo career was huge.

yeh i was really questioning his eligibilty, compared to Journey's career he is just a blip on a radar.

Perry has 3 solo albums...Street Talk...FTLOSM and GH +5...and ONE...ONE solo tour...which was cut short to go take Journey away from Chalf...err...reform Journey with the classic lineup...Not HoF credentials there...not on the basis of his solo work...

He had 4 gold albums, 1 platinum and was a pioneer in the art of scratching. I'm not saying he belongs in the HOF but you did ask what he has done. :D

This is ridiculous. Perry made Journey and Journey made Perry. He'll never be inducted without them.

He's known more for the band's songs than his own.
