I broke ranks and went independent. From now on I have no party affiliation - I just vote for the best candidate based on the issues. I am fedup with the Bush/Cheney/McCain style of administration. It's time to use common sense for a change... let's kick the redneck cowboys out of the White House and get back to doing the will of the people:

Let's get rid of manipulation and replace it with reason.

Let's stop policing the world and take care of protecting the home front (like China does successfully).

Let's stop using fear and replace it with intelligent strategy.

Let's stop the greedy Texas oil tycoons from profiting on Middle East oil and become energy independent (solar, nuclear, hydrogen, etc.).

What choices do we have this year? We can either stick with the Bush plan via McCain who is one foot out of the grave, or go with Obama who seems to have figured out long ago that bullying other countries to get our way does not work in the long run.

I'm not voting for McCain but I am also certainly not voting for Obama, either. I think anyone who thinks Obama is going to be any better than what we've had for the last 16 years is fooling themselves. At least you seem level-headed about all this.

Hmm..seems to be some cognitive dissonance at work here.

The onetime Libertarian heir apparent, Ron Paul, has said Obama would more faithfully execute the Constitution than McCain.
Why then, are the overwhelming majority of political threads here targeting Obama?
Where are these rock-ribbed Libertarian values you claim to espouse?

RossValoryRocks wrote:Number 2, You didn't correct shit. You bloviated upon some obscure news source and used another OPINION to back yours, as you usually do, and called it fact.

Washington Post is obscure?
Or, wait, no, maybe it’s too liberal, is that it?
Everything I posted is verifiable.
If you can prove me wrong, go ahead.

Also you hate taxes but you want those roads nice and smooth don't you?!

All that will be said about you by TNC and his ilk. And that is just the Ad hominem attacks they will level, then they will try and back up their opinions with other opinions made by leftists, communists and other socialist types who use emotion not fact as a basis for their arguments.

Here's a paradigm shattering thought - maybe I’m not as educated as you.
Ever think of that?
Why do you elitists always have to flaunt your blue-ribbon charter school education in peoples' faces?

A bunch of dynamite toting neanderthals.
If the airlines didn't have so much lobbying clout, the cockpit doors would've been secured years ago.
Instead, the FAA left it up to the vaunted gods of private industry and the free market - they failed.

Typically, private industry does a far better job than government. However, in this case, you are correct.

Isn’t it painfully self-obvious that if I wanted to hide something I could just as easily lie, say “no,” and scurry away?

The 9-11 Truth Movement seems to be comprised of people of varying political stripes.
A right-leaning anarchist faction even tried to co-opt Ron Paul’s candidacy at one point.
I never used that as a convenient window to impugn your patriotism.

No, sorry.
Regardless of what I believe or don’t believe, you will not be granted the satisfaction of this pound of flesh.

One common thing that they are composed of, though, are people who don't know the truth even if it slaps them across the face.

I don't think I questioned your patriotism, either, did I??? I'm not saying 9/11 Truthers in general aren't patriotic. They're just stupid.

No, sorry.

Still, amidst the political backbiting, it’s good to see two posters having each others' backs.
Will you two loofah-sharing nasty boys be seizing advantage of the California Supreme Court’s ruling by any chance?

Oh I'm sorry, I thought it your party that was supposed to be ever tolerant of all people, gays included.

Or is that only when people agree with your ideology?

For my part, I have no problem with gays. I have a relative by marriage that's gay... my aunt (who is not a blood relative)'s brother is gay and a super nice guy. I also had a gay teammate in college. One of my good friends who has kept in touch with me. Once played with an incredible classical violinist who was gay. A little eccentric and somewhat fit the stereotype, but a hell of a musician and a nice guy. Social conservatism isn't something interests me too much. I don't know if I'd say I'm a Libertarian, but I don't care what other people do on their own time. Sorry you have a problem with gays.

Yeah me too, it seems it's alright for many people on these forums to trash gays and talk smack. It's offensive and while I love coming here and reading the thoughts of everyone else, it sucks that I have to read that shit from homophobic assholes who apparently are so insecure in their own manhood they have to insult others to make themselves feel good or "masculine". That mentality should have been left in middle school, but some people refuse to grow up.

Oh, I am gay by the way and proud of it. Can you believe it, Journey actually has gay fans?

It's also interesting to note that most "homophobic" comments on this forum that I've seen over the last three years have come from supposedly open-minded liberals.
