Just listened to Revelations!

Yes, that's the title of track 4 from the new Judas Priest 2-disc release Nostradamus.

Didn't realize they had a new one out, and boy is it DIFFERENT! First few samples remind me of some Trans-Siberian Orchestra material. I'm digging it, and am going to pick up a copy on my way home. Anyone else heard the new Priest, and if so, what do you think?

REALLY into the new Priest record. Surprised at how many people are bitching about it though... there seems to be quite a division among fans... on one side you have many (like me) praising it as a masterpiece, but on the other side you have those fans who want every priest album to be another Screaming For Vengeance, Defenders Of The Faith, Painkiller, etc... and basically state this is the worst thing Priest's done since Turbo(which I actually liked) or have ever done. Not many in between, which to me is a very good thing. Most of the really good albums have those divisions.

Just got the newest Crue album too, and I have to say I'm shocked at how much I'm really digging it.

(and upon reading this, everyone should now go listen to "Revelations", the classic Iron Maiden tune off of "Piece Of Mind"!!!)

Awesome -- I ran late and didn't pick it up tonight, but will tomorrow for sure. I also really LOVED Turbo when it came out, as well as several songs from Ram It Down. I definitely don't need every Priest album to sound the same. And I agree, the new Crue is killer! I've been listening to it daily.

I think the problem with Turbo can be summed up by the following songs: the title track, Parental Guidance, Private Property, and Hot for Love. Terrible songs. The rest of the songs are excellent, though. "Reckless" is my personal favorite from that album.

"Ram it Down" was very underrated as well, in my opinion. The title track and "Hard as Iron" kick as much ass as anything they've ever done.

I think one thing that hurt Turbo was the overplaying of "Turbo Lover", and that silly video that went with it. A bad video can certainly kill a good song...

One of my favorites from Ram It Down was "Blood Red Skies", which always reminded me of The Terminator. That's the visuals I got when listening to the song -- HK's hovering overhead and endoskeletons looking thru the ruins for something to kill. That song may have actually been insipired by that movie, but I can't remember if I read something to that effect or not.

I am slowly getting into the new Crue album, there's a couple of songs I really dig, but overall it's not one of my favorites.

Hmmm... I actually liked Turbo myself. Strangely they got me into Priest in the first place. Then when I branched out to their other albums, I got to enjoy what the brought to the table. I liked Painkiller as well.

From Turbo, Out in the Cold happened to be one of my favorites from the album. What was so bad about the CD besides the video (which I never saw). I happened to like Turbo, Private Property among others. Ah well. Wouldn't be the first time I've been non-conformist

That's my favorite Priest song. Great, great tune.

Too many to name here, but a few of my top faves were "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll", "Love Bites" and "The Sentinel" from Defenders, and of course, "Hellion"/"Electric Eye" from Screaming.

"Out In The Cold" is a great song, and also probably my favorite from that album, along with the single "Locked In". I think the problem with Turbo was it was their most commercial album ever, and that always riles up a hardcore metal fanbase.
