It won't get radio play as well if the Journey management will not endorse the album to the radio stations. Proper endorsement is necessary to avoid technicalities/legalities due to it's distribution exclusivity. A good promotion company will also be a must for the success of the concert.

For more awareness? In the Philippines?   Seriously? Everybody in the Philippines is completely aware of Arnel and Journey. It's probably the biggest news to hit the Philippines since the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and a few years later Robin Padilla being a fugative on the run. Because everyone I knew in the Philippines has been contacting me from all angles (letters, e-mails and phone calls) and my friends in America who are from the Philippines have been e-mailing me and meeting with me in person just to get a glimps of the home videos that I had recorded back in the late 80's of Arnel and AMO Band. Many of my Filipino/American friends were at my side when I had put all my possessions in storage and went to the Philippines to be with the band back then. Now these same friends are with me today and they just can't believe that what I was involved with has escalated into what we have today with Arnel/Journey. I just smile to them and say with a proud smile, "I told you." And trust me, to say that the Philippines needs something to make them more aware of the goings on with Arnel and Journey tickles me off my feet. That's like someone going into RCA Records right now to inform them that Elvis has died.

Unfortunately it looks like there is no distribution set up for Revelation in Asia. Amazon/Japan is having to import the CD from the U.K. :(

That should change in regards to the album being sold in Japan I would think. Perhaps not even Journey had any idea the popularity this would create for them. 20/20 though, I'm curious if they would have limited their album to Wally-World had they knew the impact this would create.

There are Walmarts in Japan but apparently the distribution was limited to U.S. stores. Frontiers Europe isn't going to have enough copies to supply both sides of the globe if demand increases so they need to come up with a backup plan. This is where they will be missing the marketing power of Sony/BMG.

I'd be more than happy if people in my part are that enthusiastic as yours, but not. They heard about it, but it will take some explanation before they realize what i'm talking about. And these people I thought are more rockers than me. Take Arnel's Adobo Nation interview for example. He said he is more popular in the US than in the Philippines, which is better for him coz he gets to go wherever he wants without people recognizing him. That's why i said "more awareness". Simple mention on TV/news won't work. It has to be constantly visible like that of Charice. Of course Arnel can't be here to do all the TV guestings for the time, that's why it really needs other promotional support.

I already have my revelation CD, and i'm sure if I'll show these to people, they will be blown away as well and will be interested to have one. But I cannot promote it, coz the minute they like the CD, they will ask for me to burn them a copy since it's not available here yet. And I refuse to burn any copy of this, so... much as I want to do a promotion myself, I can't.

Another issue perhaps is the region setup on the DVD. I'm unsure if the audio CD is affected in that same manner. So it's not like someone could purchase one of the albums at Wally-World and then turn around and bring it to Japan to watch. I tried that with a hand full of Ayumi Hamasaki album packages I picked up on my recent trip to Japan. When I returned back to the U.S. I'm able to listen to the CDs but I am unable to watch the DVDs because they are setup on a diffent region. I'm positive the same issue will be in the Philippines if they try and watch the DVD there, unless they have a player that has the correct region setup on it.

On computers, you can change the region, but your limited to changing it like 5 times total before it freezes on the last region it was set up for.

I didn't have problem playing it on a regular DVD player in terms of regional issues. A slight problem is the synch of the video and audio at the start. Played it on my laptop and desktop and the synch issue is not visible, so i'm thinking it might be the codecs.

Even if Arnel WASN'T in Journey, they'd still move tons of tickets if they came to the Philippines.
Just listen to FM radio, middle stations, and you can't get through a day without Journey playing,
and no --I'm deffo not talking about Reveltaion, since that hasn't been released here.

Regarding US-coded DVD's... not a problem.
At only (USD 50) each over here, it's easy to buy one generic DVD player for every region whose
discs you are likely to play, and region-1 codeds are far more common here than some might think.

That is true. It's amazing how Filipinos, even in times of crisis, would go all out for concerts in big groups, all ages, and all genres. No pun intended, i'm happy the way it is.

Yeah, perhaps they would still sell tons of tickets if Arnel wasn't in the band, but with him in it, you know their selling more in the Philippines then if he wasn't in the band. And about the regions, when DVD first came out, what....something like twelve years ago, people were discussing the fact that there are different regions and I thought that they were totally full of shit, I think I was in a club when they were discussing it. At which point I simply just dismissed the issue as too much alcohol on their brains. Because I had played cassettes and CDs in the U.S. that I had purchased overseas without any problems before, I couldn't imagine that DVDs would be any different. Yeah, I was wrong, it does exist and it does matter....for whatever reason. I'm still pissed I can't watch the Ayumi Hamasaki vids I purchased recently in Japan. I get lucky when someone uploads one of her better vids on youtube, but then some wank comes along and pulls it down for copywrite issues. What's weird is all the Show-Ya vids I purchased in Japan work just fine. I guess the Japanese only make current/new music vids in their specific region, yet when they reprint older vids, they tend to put them on the region we can watch in the U.S.

This year I have met dozens of Filipinos at Frontiers concerts everywhere. It's actually pretty awesome. It's also cool that the Filipino citizens I've met (not the Americanized Filipino-Americans) pronounce Nill Shin's name the same as Arnel! :)

See, look at that. Even Frontiers is gaining new fans because of the hiring of Arnel. Everyone wins. Life is good. 8) I bet they butcher the fucking shit out of "Hunsicker." And I'd bet it's "Jeh-mey."

Factor in the corrupt law enforcement officers who bring a dozen of their family members and then just flash their badges at the gates for entry. Its nearly impossible to guard all gates. Its easier said than done on preventing these guys! I've got first hand experience way back when me and my friends had this business venture in wherein we manage concerts for Air Supply.

The next thing you know, when you factor the cost and the ticket sales, you wonder why your down half a million.
