In my limited beer drinking experience I'm definitely a fan of the darker beers, premium lagers, and imports.

If you can't find Guinness, head to Trader Joes and get some Murphy's, a little bit cheaper but almost as good.

Murphy's is great - pretty much as good as Guinness so long as its really cold....
Stella Artois lager is nice too tho....

"I was actually drinking a Bud Light when I heard, and I couldn't even finish it. That's the honest-to-God truth," he said Monday.

I'd have probably been the same way. But I'm a long time Miller Lite girl. 8)

Not that I don't appreciate a good import, but I also don't appreciate American companies and jobs being lost either.
Wow, and didn't the Cubs (long time Bud promoters) just renew their deal with Anheuser?

Yeah, we Americans seem pretty content to give away the farm to the highest bidder. China will own MacDonalds, WalMart, and The White House before too long...

I was watching something last week where we gave China some MAJOR nuc-U-ler technology in exchange for some job programs. I think Clinton let them see it and Bush actually gave it to them or something. We just seem to have lost the ability to think about the future in America. I don't get it...

Of course, some are even saying that about Journey and Arnel. (not me)

Some might say that Journey has out-sourced their voice to another country.

If Journey is THE American rock band, and they've sold their soul to another country, then why should we have a problem with the Busch family? Point is, it's still an American product, servicing America, then why should we care if some of the proceeds go to another country?

Do any of us really care where the money goes as long as we're getting product?

The only protest we've got is to stop consuming - beer or music, no?

Would be a LOT sadder if Buttweiser wasn't the most horrible tasting beer out there, and I've had some pretty crappy cheap beers. Its pretty much all marketing, folks. Budweiser is the undeserved "king of beers" simply due to being marketed down peoples' throats the most. People treat their superbowl commercials like effing events, for crying out loud. And bought by a Belgian company? How is this bad? Belgians know beer better than pretty much any other country. Usually, I know a bar is a really good one when they have a wide assortment of Belgians on draft. The only truly bad thing is they're not changing the beer at all. The real tragedy is that the horrid taste will live on. I swear, if I have even one Budweiser and nothing else to drink the whole night, no matter what without fail, i wake up the next day with a headache. Not necessarily a hangover, but a wicked headache nonetheless. Anyhow, this is still bad news for two reasons 1: Americans losing jobs, and 2: horrid beer gets to live on. And with all the people treating Bud like an "American tradition", I think we can find a much better Beer mascot. Something with balls. The rest of the beer drinking world is already laughing at us!!! Steel Reserve, I nominate you!!! Sure, isn't very good going down, in fact it tastes like some form of municipal waste mixed with something that tastes the way socks smell, but dammit if it isn't some of the strongest most memorable stuff out there, of which many drunks' dreams come true!!! In all honesty, though... I nominate pretty much anything from Great Lakes brewery. If you're a beer snob like I am and you haven't tried anything from them, do yourself a favor and get yourself a variety pack. Best beer in the country, right outta Cleveland.

Germans and Belgians pretty much wrote the bible as far as beer is concerned. Wish I had the money for those beers much more often. I'm a rarity, though, the beer snob that can truly appreciate the "bum-brew", that is, the cheaply made stuff that pretty much has no other purpose than to get you drunk asap. (which German/Belgian brews definitely are NOT!!!) That also being said, I still have never paid a dime for a budweiser, or bud light, and still never will. It is the absolute bottom of the barrel for me. But yeah, when I have the money, I tend to go for the German/Belgian stuff... Or some good Local or Micro brews. And again, if you like those beers, try some stuff from Great Lakes brewery if you haven't. Best beer Cleveland has to offer. Erie brewing here in Pennsylvania isn't too shabby either.
