Other Perry Cases

Postby ProgRocker53 » Mon Aug 04, 2008 11:26 am

Who are some other well-known vocalists who no longer perform, whether it be by their own choice, or because they just can't do it anymore?

Been thinking alot about Perry and his plight lately.. was just wondering if any other great singers were doing something similar to what he's doing these days.

I think Perry is the exception rather then the norm. A lot of guys his age or older are still singing even though the don't appear to need the money. Justin Hayward, John Farnham, Glenn Shorrock, Kenny Loggins, the list goes on and on. I can't think of any big names who just suddenly quit performing like he did and never returned.

OK. Not my cup of tea, but Julie Andrews had to quit singing after throat surgery went sour and ruined her voice I believe. I'll bet she could still sing, just not up to her high standards. Kinda like Perry.

Prog- Give me opinion of the song A Brand New Start in that 2005 duet with David Pack from Ambrosia. Sounds like TBF to me.

Makes me sure the hell wonder who told anyone that Perry can't sing. Do YOU have some inside track???
The power and passion that Steve Perry has in his delivery is what won me over to be a huge fan.

I thought Prog was talking about people who stopped performing, nothing about whether Perry could sing or not. 2 backup vocal jobs in 8 years isn't what we are talking about. No live performance anywhere, not one new song, nothing to show that he will perform on stage again as compared to some of his peers.

Make sure you know how to read before you accuse someone of saying something they didn't say. Do YOU have a reading problem??? 8)
