OT- Extreme / King's X - Amos' South End, Charlotte

I saw Extreme last night in Charlotte, NC, and if you're a fan at all, I HIGHLY recommend checking out this tour.

King's X is always amazing, and Extreme is playing better than ever. The new drummer is a monster.

If you do make it to the show and you haven't picked up the new Extreme CD, they're selling them at the show for $10. I like the idea of cutting out the middleman and putting a few more bucks directly in the band's pocket.

Good attendance, too. Nuno commented on the turnout. It was a solid, solid night of music.

King's X came off stage and went directly to the merch stand to sign autographs while they changed the stage over for Extreme. I thought that was very cool.

My roommate saw them at the Chicago HOB this past Saturday. He got the new album, I've heard parts of it and it's not bad.
The live show is supposed to be pretty killer. Amos' is a great place to catch a band, too. Cool little venue. :)

Yeah, I cringed when I saw "More Than Words" on the set list. To their credit, they have fun with it and get the audience involved and I enjoyed hearing that song a lot more than I thought I would.

I forgot just how good Nuno is, and regardless of whether you like Cherone's voice or not, the guy is one hell of a front man.

I'm not much of an Extreme fan, but King's X KILLS live! I still think "Out of the Silent Planet" is a masterpiece.

I will forever regret missing this show...KX are my favorite band in the world and I haven't seen them since 2001...and I like Extreme a lot but have never seen them...

*sadness*

I didn't know they were touring together. That'd ROCK. I love both bands (save Extreme's last album which I hated). Hope the new one's good.

King's X is the best band on the planet. Nice guys too. One Rolling Stone critic described a show by them in 2001 by saying; 'On a bad night the tear the roof off the building and on a good night they'll save your soul".

He's got 24 years almost to the day on me and he is still in great voice and body. I am not.
