OT-Voting,What Can We Expect Under Obama or Mccain?

lets say your average american isn't sure just yet which person to choose for president, what can we expect under each one and what are the pros and cons of each choice???

for instance if i vote for obama can i expect my taxes to go higher or stay the same? and what about under mccain?

will the gas and oil prices be more stable under mccain or a obama presidency?

can we expect a stronger american military under mccain or obama?

who would be quicker to strike back in the event of an attack?

there are lots of pros and cons to each candidate.......

Anything would be better than the current administration.

i agree.clinton was a real good president and we all prospered during his tenure and he got along with other countries pretty good.under bush we have nothing but inflation, useless wars and mostly every country including america doesn't like george bush and i don't blame them because he has tarnished our reputation at home and abroad.

i'm just curious as to peoples opinions on what they would expect under a mccain or obama presidency.since mccain is a republican most are saying he would continue on the path we are on now but with obama we don't know much about him which is a big question.....

Just for the record, I will not vote for Juan however....since you asked..

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN:
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples).McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA:
28% on profit from ALL home sales

How does this affect you?
If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain in taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and
would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home
will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part
from their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN: 15% (no change)

OBAMA: 39.6%

How will this affect you?
If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds,
life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends,
you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes
President. Some experts predict that Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains
would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.

INCOMETAX (find your bracket)

MCCAIN (no changes)

Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reverse all tax cuts)

Singlemaking 30K - tax $8,400
Singlemaking 50K - tax $14,000
Singlemaking 75K - tax $23,250
Marriedmaking 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama, your taxes will more than double!

How does this affect you? No explanation needed.
This is pretty straight forward.

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0%(No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

How does this affect you? Many families have lost businesses, farms,
ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because
they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to
loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.

New gasoline taxes

New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....

New taxes to pay for socialized medicine

I'm glad you posted that, Skylorde. Anyone that can still vote for Obama after seeing that needs to juggle pinless grenades.

funny thing about this statement... we say that to every president administration. especially if your party is not in power.
It was said about Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush 41, Clinton, and now Bush. Hell it was probably said about Washington!!
The country kepps gong no matter what.

W will be righted by history... thats all I will say. Liberals hated Reagan too. Just like conservatives hated Clinton and Carter.

Keep in mind that doesn't mean every proposal will actually happen when Obama gets elected (yea, I'm convinced he'll win) however given the fact the dems control both houses, many of these will likely materialize.

Many Conservatives say this but I disagree. We are just beginning to feel the ripple effects from years and years of unchecked illegal immigration. Tens of millions of low skilled & low wage earning immigrants continually drawing more resources (overall) from the system (schools, emergency services, entitlement programs, etc, etc) by far outweighs what people in these income brackets pay in taxes. This will be W's legacy (and Clinton too, to some degree).

Regarding the last paragraph, keep this in mind too. For the last fourty years, the government has used Social Security surpluses to offset the budget deficit link. In less than 10 years, the surpluses will evaporate as more and more baby boomers begin drawing Social Security link. When a large chunk of the working class are in tax brackets where they basically pay no taxes, who's going to shoulder this tax burden?

I love it when these freaks come out. On another note, Obama has been endorsed by the Communist Party USA. 8)
