That's a shame, too. Anyone that knows anything about Belichick knows that he's a good man that exudes hard work and his players love him. Personally, I think he's a great guy.

Yeah, I don't get the Belichick hate either. Sour grapes, if you ask me. He's dusted my team a few times too, but that's no cause to hate the dude!

Nick Saban, TO, and a tie between Scott Boras and Drew Rosenhaus, no doubt.

I agree. I always loved Belichick when he was the Giants Defensive Coordinator. His defenses were always impossible to go up against. He's never been the most affable guy on the planet, but who gives a shit. He's a football coach, not a politician. There are a lot more surly football coaches than there are cheerleader guys like Pete Carroll. I always preferred playing for the surly, no nonsense types. The guy's job is to win games, and he's done more of that than anyone I know of. And yes, winning with cameras still counts

The bottom line is that you haven't arrived in this country until EVERYONE hates you, so at least he has arrived! He made a once, VERY embarrassing franchise VERY relevant! I will always love the fact that everyone hates the Patriots, because when I was growing up, people didn't even know who they were, and that they were an NFL franchise!

Because if you go out in front of the media, being contrite, add a couple of croc tears, you get a pass?

Strange list. Although I consider myself a sports fan I can honestly say I've never heard of at least 45 of the names on that list.

What I can't understand is what the hell Italian World Cup footballer Marco Materazzi is doing on there. If you take him off the list then every other name is associated with a US centric sport. That would be fair enough as a list of the most hated sportspeople in the US. However, by including Materazzi, the implication is that this is some kind of international poll, in which case there are at least 20-30 international sportspeople I would expect to see above him in the list.

Speaking on behalf of all Cleveland sports fans...Belichick SUCKS! He's #2 on our hate list behind Art Modell and just barely ahead of Michael Jordan And John Elway!

You New Englanders got a much humbler and smarter version after he screwed up our team! He'll always be remembered for getting rid of a local icon, Bernie Kosar...and he did it with no other starting QB on the roster. Bernie was so bad that he started THE VERY NEXT WEEK for the Cowboys during one of their Superbowl seasons. Diminished skills my ass!! More like diminished coaching ability!

It was as much our hatred of Belichick as anything that had Modell wanting to move the team becasue morale surrounding the team was so bad at the time.

Every Clevelander wanted to throw up for 2 straight Superbowls when Belichick and Modell won 2 b-2-b.
