Dave, to put it mildly, you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.
There is no comparison between a private citizen speaking on a airplane, and a guy syndicated coast-to-coast using the public airwaves.

You are absolutely, unequivocally wrong. You are the poster boy for situational ethics, which is convenient since it makes your own behavior on this board acceptable in your own eyes while you're able to castigate others for similar or the same behavior. You don't live in a glass house. By comparison, you're homeless.

No wonder you display such vitriol against those whom disagree with you. If you can't silence them with truth, since it's not on your side to begin with, you just use the "rule" of law. Good call, Mussolini.

I'm sure Coughlin had his diehard supporters too.
Certain things simply have to be done for the public good.

So said Hitler. For someone who cries foul about the Patriot Act being unconstitutional, you sure aren't much of a supporter of the Constitution, eh? Why don't you just admit that you're a Socialist instead of continuing on with this charade of being an old-school liberal Democrat?

You have officially become a caricature of yourself and you've done a darn good job of it. Image

Game. Set. Match. I think we can all go home now. Nothing more to see here.

Dave if you're too dumb to know when you're being lied to that's not my problem.

This was already posted and the guy apologised.

If he apologized, then good for him. However, Glenn Beck apologized for his comments about the California wildfires and you didn't accept that apology since you've brought that up on a number of occasions on this board.

Not sure what imaginary code of ethics you and Barb think Olbermann must swear allegiance to each morning.
He hosts a cable newscast and can do with it as he pleases, especially when it comes to interview or culture segments.
Smacking down Republicans lies does not, ipso facto, turn a show into full blown liberal advocacy.
Perhaps someday.

I figured you'd say this. Your standards apparently only apply to those that you disagree with and, when your liberal idols are caught with their proverbial pants down, you have some other slippery excuse for why the same standard does not apply. Doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Never ceases to amaze me how one TV anchor can send undulating vibrations of laughter throughout the Conservative borg hive.

Fixed.

If it's anything like "Bowling for Columbine", which I did see, I'll save my money, thanks. If I want to see Goebbels-type propaganda films, I'll watch the History channel during their Nazi newsreel marathon.

Did you see when he used RAW numbers to compare the number of gun deaths in America versus England. The guy is hysterical, and I can't believe people actually watch his movies anymore!!!

You’re right.
Why pay ten bucks when I can stay at home and get propagandized by FOX News for free?
Moore has played fast and loose with some facts.
Like any form of media, you read other sources and reach your own conclusions.

The only kind of speech that is not protected by the first amendment is what would put someone in immediate harm, like the old adage of yelling fire in a crowded theater. Your application of the first amendment is not only twisting its interpretation but tearing it in half and gluing it on backwards.

Dave if you're too dumb to know when you're being lied to that's not my problem.

That was one of only two albums that I had on vinyl. The other was "The Game" by Queen.

I just had to resurrect this comment from the last page...

Question for TNC...If Glenn Beck were caught saying something in a private conversation on the order of what these guys were saying, don't you think it would and SHOULD be made publicly known and he should be raked over the coals for it?

Despite my failure of imagination to think Glenn could rival past on-air gaffes, I have no doubt he would be held to account.
Nobody, public figure and private citizen alike, is safe today from the roving eye of YouTube and unsolicited overnight viral infamy.
Now, should private comments that were intended to stay private have an impact on his career?
I say no.

TNC. I'd have to disagree with you on this point. One of the few times I've had a problem with one of your posts.

Take this scenario: Bush is attending a big to-do about funding for underprivledged youth. He makes his PC speech, photo ops....blah, blah, blah. Then he is overheard speaking with another gentleman and THIS transpires:

Man - Can you believe we've been 3 hours here?

Bush - Yeah, and I've made more money in these three hours than these people have in their lives. {chuckles}

Man - {chuckles}

You don't think this should be played, and played, and played....and then played some more? and as for having no impact on his career....are you fucking serious? I think Hannity would jump ship after that exchange.

Not to too delicately thread the needle, but the thoughts of a sitting president, especially in regards to the citizenry he has sworn to protect, is of course relevant. I thought we we’re talking about DJs and a retired head of the DNC.
