Whiskey Falls- Great Harmonies!

Postby UncleKG » Sat Sep 06, 2008 5:21 am

Have any of you ever heard of a band called "Whiskey Falls?"

It's new Country (I'm not a big country fan), but the guys are all TREMENDOUS singers, and their harmonies are spot on.

The guitarist is a guy named Damon Johnson, who used to front the band Brother Cane (a personal favorite of mine). They opened for Van Halen on the "Balance" tour and had a couple of radio hits "And Fools Shine On," "Got No Shame," and "I lie in the bed I make."

Damon's written for a number of other artists, including Stevie Nicks, Sammy Hagar and he and another guy in this band wrote the Santana/Steven Tyler song that was out a few years ago. Damon also toured as Alice Cooper's guitarist for several years.

Anyway, here's a clip of them covering "Seven Bridges Road." Again, you can't fake harmonies like this (or at least not while singing a cappela. If you like it, check YouTube for other clips of theirs. Again, very talented guys.

I've love to hear your feedback.

Cool. My band just added the beginning of 7 Bridges to go into another Eagles tune.

Damon also spent some time in the reunited Damn Yankes in the late 90s....

and during the 2001 Arrival tour, Damon played guitar for John Waite.

Wasn't Buck Johnson (no relation) also with John Waite for that tour as well? He always could hit those high notes on "Fly"....
Both very nice and very talented guys!

Damon Johnson and Buck Johnson toured with John Waite for quite a long time. Buck left John Waite to join this band and then Damon left when the band got signed. If you look at the liner notes you can see that Damon isn't really on much of the record because of his late arrival. They are a really good tight band.

Damon Johnson was also the lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter in Brother Cane. They had a couple of minor AOR hits in the 1990s.
