I'm afraid chicago and up that midwest line are in for some trouble--more than me.
RocknRoll wrote:OK - Chicago was packed. It's been raining all day which I figured would pretty much put a damper on any walk-ups for the concert. WRONG. The pavillion was sold-out and the lawn was packed and everyone seemed to stick it out through the rain. If anybody left I certainly didn't see them. This is one of the biggest venues on the tour and it would have been a sure sell-out without the rain. (28,000+)
It was really a great concert. Arnel looked like he was having a ball, even when he crashed into Neal jumping off the riser. They both laughed it off, it was actually fun to see.
Setlist was pretty much the same as Indy which included 2 of my favorites. Feeling That Way/Anytime and La Do Da. WOW, 2 shows in a row for my favs. Deen did an amazing job on Keep on Runnin' which I love although I did miss Mother/Father.
Neal opened with his spectacular version of the Star Spangled Banner with the flag on the screen, very appropriate right now. Reminiscent of 2005 or 2004? Anyway. the crowd loved it.
The band was terrific as you would expect. Arnel was all over the place and really in high energy tonight. Tinley has a huge stage and Arnel covered it all and then some. You could tell he was pretty tuckered out at the end though. AP is starting to show a little bit of road wear, but it's been a long first tour for him. Most people who haven't heard him at the start of the tour, wouldn't notice. He still sounds great and it looked like the crowd loved him. A continuous rain with intermittant downpours lost to Journey and Arnel. They kept most everyone there on the lawn in the rain.
I never remember setlists, I'm always just enjoying the show, but pretty standard. Opened with SSB and NWA and closed with LTS. Same songs from Revelation.
Still a must-see.
I forgot to mention Heart is still amazing. Same setlist. CheapTrick was really good tonight, both Jon and Deen joined them. Jon for 2 and Deen for Dream Police.
