anyway, I kept on wondering inspite JD being a great actor, he never won an OSCAR. I can cite several of his films where he could had nailed an award. well, probably because most of the films where he starred in, didn't appeal the guild or they just simply hate Johnny.

These awards, very similarly to the various music awards, are a political/social thing. There's a reason why certain artists (musically) have cleaned up with these awards, even though their musical contributions were/are seemingly pointless....and other artists (that try to remain a-political/a-social) but have significant contributions to music itself....get passed over.

Serving the art is never the reason why someone gets recognized through these awards (unless they die and get awarded posthumously). It is almost always because they've done other things as actors.

It's a sad,sad truth. What they do on the screen is what should be judged...not what they do after they take the costumes and makeup off. But rarely do you see a person get an award for a role in an action/fantasy role that is purely designed around entertainment...and not trying to make a statement.

So long as Knightly starts eating again, I would only agree with her...as she's quite yummy when she actually has meat on her bones. As for Orlando Bloom, I can do with out him on all levels...

I think Johnny is enough of a draw, and if they work in a couple of other big names (which should be no problem - who wouldn't jump at that?), it should be easy to make the numbers.

Agreed on Orlando Bloom. I was done with him after the first POTC movie.

I bought the bluray collection with all 3 movies on ebay (brand new) for $49.
Great movie to show the power of your bluray/highdef TV.

Speaking of Bluray,,,,the Sony Playstation 3 80GB at $399 is the best value you get for the money.

Indeed, forget about the game console capability, you get a superior Blu-Ray player and a web browser. Auto updates with your wireless network too.

The plots were better in the first two. But all in all the artwork, and special effects were stellar. I cannot begin to tell you how hard it is to make something so unreal look real. It was for the artwork alone I think deserved more credit. But they never gave Lucas much credit for the original Star Wars movies either.

I disagree with this...The newer Blu-ray players on the market should outperform the PS3. They will have faster drives, more audio output options, etc...and they will have a remote included. For the PS3, you either have to buy a remote, or use the game control.

If you want a PS3 for gaming, then, yeah, get it and have the Blu-ray too. If you don't play video games, spend your money on the new Blu-ray players...they cost about the same now.
