Perry said that he and Journey could not reach an agreement with Sony 'at this time'. If the 'sides' renegotiate and reach an agreement, then we could see a 'classic' Journey DVD release.

As far as DVD's in general, Journey might be able to produce something on their own. But it is likely that it will have to be something completely new, and unfortunately, that would not be anything 'different' other than the song selection itself.

The fans should expect the Houston 81 DVD (Houston Summit) and Raised on Radio 86 DVD (Angels Camp), as well as the latest evolution of this never ending band at (Arrowfest 2003) DVD in mid November, all sides plans to distribute the past and the present in this order ... The "kinks" and "disagreements" were settled in late January 2005...

Time for the past and present to collide with the ongoing fans of Journey !!!

Yeah, but now that Kalodner is gone from Sony, who is working with Perry on these Sony released dvds? I always felt that it was large in part due to John Kalodner (who is a HUGE Perry fan) that Perry agreed to leave his hole and work on something. Now that Kalodner's gone, does Perry have any hands-on involvement anymore? Either way, I am looking forward to the two classic dvds.

In regards to Arrowfest, I haven't heard anything on this. Not calling u a liar, this news just takes me suprise (if it is true). Is it just the Journey portion of Arrowfest or a collection of all the different acts that played there?

If my source is not mistaken, I believe it will be a new Journey DVD...

DV, it is interesting that you say all sides reached an agreement in January when Perry posted his answer regarding the Houston DVD in February. And at that time, Perry said that he and Journey could not reach an agreement with Sony at that time...

NC, I think JDK was already out of Sony when the GH DVD was put together. I do not know/understand how it works, but it appears that JDK still has the ability to work on these projects with Sony and Perry.

Finally, given the way Journey fans are clamouring for a new DVD, I hope the "Arrowfest rumor" can be backed up before it goes crazy. And does anyone know the setlist for the Arrowfest show? I hope there is new material in there. And what about the 'agreement' that Journey could/would not release any Perry-era material recorded by Augeri-era Journey? DId Perry really soften up after the HWOF??

DV- weren't you on here last year saying that we can all expect NEW BIG things very soon from Steve Perry? Things, which I might add, that never came to fruition. Why toy with the Journey fans like this?

Why would they release an Arrowfest show from 2003? :? That's puzzling... Was there a full production crew there for that show? It would seem more logical to me that THIS year's Evening w/Journey tour would be filmed, with alll the hype of an expected expected 3 hour+ show with special guests and especially coinciding with the release of their much anticipated Generations CD. :D

I was at Arrowfest 2003, and besides Journey, it was downright horrible. Eddie Money opened for 25 mins. Then Cheap Trick. They were Ok, but played for 40 mins or so. Foreigner was next and stunk up the place. Not ONE hit was played, and Lou Gramm weighs 350 pounds. They were pathetic...but not as bad as Yes, who put EVERYBODY to sleep. I am not kidding you, people were sleeping all over the place!! They too, did not play one single known song..a bunch of progressive guitar crap and the like..By the way, they are all about 69 years old. Journey closed...

They were great, but had to first wake up the drowsy crowd....

I do not remember the setlist, BUT do remember them playing Higher Place, To be Alive Again and opened with Seperate Ways. Deen did play and sing Mother Father and keep on Runnin1 too.

Arrow FM is no longer. They are now JackFM, and they play everything. You might hear Led Zeppelin followed by Amy Grant, followed by Journey then Billy Idol...Weird......

I do not remember seeing ANY production there whatsoever...

Something is foul and sad if a rock band has to wait 24 years and 19 years, respectively to put out a DVD of their tours. I'm really not interested in seeing Neal's giant Afro.

I'm glad we both agree something was sad about this issue.

from nick,
any real journey fan would love to have dvds of the houston and raised on radio shows, but how real is the info that distant voice is providing, john kalodner recently stated that as soon as journey, steve perry and columbia records reaches an agreement as to the operating budget and creative ideas of the houston dvd, he would start working on it, and this was just last week, so distant voice can you let us know how accurate you think your info is, because if it is, this would be awesome and those dvds would sell thousands of copies

I just did the same thing. I didn't look at the dates of the posts, and then all of a sudden I saw a post by RockinDeano and then realized that it was an old thread.

If there gonna put out a DVD of an old show I wish it would either be that Frontiers-tour show in Philly, or maybe something from the Departure tour.
