My two most favorite songs!!!!

They are both great songs. I'm still waiting for them to bust out Sweet and Simple one of these days. Did they even do this in Perry's day? It's such a great song.

You know, I was a kid/young teen, but I was at a LOT of early Perry concerts in Detroit, Grand Rapids & Flint MI. I have never seen it performed live....anyone?

I just perused my Evolution boots....couldn't find one with it....BUT, I Do have a boot with Daydream LIVE!

If at all, it probably would have been in '79 (set list was too long by '80), but none of my '79 boots have it. That is one that definitely should have been live. Omg. Thud.

It's weird. I mean it's a great harmony, but it doesn't sound any more difficult to pull off than the other stuff. I don't know any other reason they wouldn't play it live at least a few times... it's not like there's a million guitar overdubs that Neal couldn't play live... Rollie's voice is REALLY distinctive in that harmony, especially the acapella "It's whatttttt I like to dooo"

Kudos to you for recognizing the brilliance of Perry on a track you don't even like. I personally don't understand anyone not liking that superb song, but at least you recognize Perry's insanely flawless vocals on that performance!

Hey windbag, how about giving us a fucking song!!!

Marabelle, are you thinking of that America song, Can't Fall Asleep to a Lullabye? There's just a snippet of a clip showing SP up on stage with America in concert singing that song. Nobody knows where it came from ... looks to be a promo thing ... but cut short. The song is from America's Perspective album - 1984.

That's my favorite SP song of all time. Yes, the wailing note toward the end gets to me every time.

I will say that anything from the Evolution album (still my all time favorite). To me though "Stay Awhile" from the Departure album has to be one of the best performances SP put to record.

Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Shit! Almost forgot his most operatic sounding vocal....."WHAT WAS" off of GH+5. For me, that is a hands down lesson for the thick-headed that would try to label his talent as only high tenor. Crank that tune up and listen to the power of that vocal. Headphones will blow your ass out of the chair. 8)
