South Bend -- One Year Later

Postby Rhiannon » Tue Oct 07, 2008 12:34 am

Since South Bend and MRFest!!
To think a year ago right now a great many of us were hungover if we even remembered our own names.
And about to see one of the most awesome line up of bands and performers, ever. It is where I met a lot of wonderful people who became irreplaceable friends, it is where I met my future roommate, and some who have become like family. A whole year... already!!

This past year has gone by really, REALLY quick. A lot has changed, a lot is still the same... but that weekend was one hell of a time.

Time for the next one, Drew. A year from now would be a good time frame to shoot for. 8)

I've been thinking about that a lot this week. It was a weekend that most of us will never forget! I miss all the great friends I made that weekend. I look forward to doing it again sometime, maybe like in 2009? :o

It really was a great weekend. It was great meeting so many new people and forging even closer friendships with those we already knew. It's what allows me to say to my kids when songs come on the radio "I heard that live last year" when various bands who are part of Scrap Metal and the others performed their hits with them. My kids are over that by the way  It really was a great weekend for a lot of reasons and I hope that Andrew is able to pull off another one in 2009 as he hopes 8)

My friends and I were talking about this last night....yes, it was a grand time. My friends and I aren't in with the in crowd, but we were there and we had a really great time just being together and celebrating the music.......stange man in our party room and all...

I'm not much of a techy type...but here is a few picture reminders that I took.....

8) Deb's right! We had a great time at MRFest last year, and then seeing Scrap Metal again this weekend was a blast! We're definitely ready to do it again in 2009! Nothing beats great music and hanging with awesome friends!

Drew, one question....

You said it wouldn't be cost effective to get bands from Europe....how about from Canada?

DOKKEN will be headlining! Too bad it's going to be in Dubai... LOL! So far Dokken hasn't come anywhere close to me to get to a show, except for Nashville, and that was right in the middle of the work week.

South Bend was one event I really wish I wouldn't have missed. I was brand new, and didn't really know anyone, but I'm sure I would have by the end. Still, the way this year has gone, can't say I'd change a thing... there will always be another one!

Yep, great show! And "sweet" is definitely the word to describe him. Check out pics and video and what a great guy Kip is, down in JSS' forum. He's the one who took my AV pic. :D
