Ah, so you don't like boobies, I get it now.

Considering I lost my sister to breast cancer, and my mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor, and so my wife and daugher (not to mention ME) are at higher risk for it, I would say it's not a funny joke here.

I give large amounts annually to various cancer awareness and research charities I would say I do my part.

Sorry to hear about you losing your sister, and the other women in your life that have had to battle with cancer.

I second that and I want to make sure that you know that NO ONE is making light of this very serious disease or those who have lost loved ones to it.

I'll have you know that my avatar represents the latest trend in cognitive weight loss therapy, which is a method supported by the American Heart Association.

Sorry to read this, Beef-Stu. Admirable of you to support the researching! I'm glad I found the JttC, I like that they are not just breast, but ovarian as well... such a good organization. Wonderful group of people, too. 8)
BC awareness is a cause that is close to my heart (literal and figurative) as I've stated times before. If anything, the excessive pink ribbons may just remind a few girls to self-exam or schedule a check-up which could be life-saving... you just never know!

I didn't know they supported ovarian cancer research as well, that's good. Anyone who has had breast cancer, or is high risk like us, has an increased risk for ovarian as well. Our little girl has an ultrasound every 6 months already for ovarian cysts she's had since she was a newborn, she's 3 now.

I understood them to support both... I believe they talked on it or Val mentioned something to that affect, and I assumed that was what the teal in their ribbon was for, since teal is for ovarian. Ovarian cysts are wretched. I've had two but had a best friend in high school and then a roommate in college who both seemed to keep them chronically. A life long friend of mine was diagnosed with PCOS last fall, but with diet and the pill seems to be doing much better.

I'm a very vocal advocate to the ladies in my life to pay attention to themselves. Know what you're dealing with so you'll know what's normal and what's not. I'm totally loving, too, how my mid-20s seem to be changing everything that I thought was set in stone. Alluva sudden. Ugh... keep rolling, ya know. Spread the word about awareness. 8)

I wear my daffodil every day; I've lost too many people to different types of cancers, and too many others I love are still fighting. My Dad, my Poppa, my best friend, a former boyfriend and a childhood schoolmate died; still fighting - my grandma (breast cancer), two uncles, two friends (one breast, one prostate - guys, you gotta check too!); all clear now (thankfully!) my mum, my sister, and 14+ friends.

Good for you, Angel, for highlighting it. But if you don't mind, I'm going to stay yellow. For everyone I love.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
