OT: Hold Them Tight--Our Soldiers

Postby Purrkat » Thu Oct 16, 2008 8:01 am

Sorry, that 1000 word thread got me in the heart.

Here is my youngest son, SPC Dallas S. Nichols and his older brother Steve.
Dallas is currently in Ft. Bragg waiting for deployment. He is a NBC Specialist with the Illinois Army National Guard, Charlie Company 634th.
Mommy loves you Dallas!

Sorry purr about that thread. I didn't mean to invoke uneasy feelings. I think i'll delete them later. You be strong as my wife and parents were when i was in Somalia and your boys will draw unbelievable strength from it like i did.

God Speed to him. My Grandfather served, my Father and uncles served. I served. But I have made sure to end that with my son. After being involved in the U.N. clusterf*ck that turned into Ma-alinti Rangers, I have dissuaded him from that career choice.
Still, I wish all the best for your child.

God speed to you and your son Purrkat. May he come home safe and sound to a very proud America.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I really appreciate what your son is doing for our country, and please tell him that your friends at Melodicrock wish him nothing but the best of luck over there! I'd also like to thank you for your support. Being a parent or spouse to someone serving overseas is not easy, and at times is even harder on them than the ones deployed. I know that's hard to believe, but soldiers know what they're going through on a day-to-day basis, whereas parents and spouses don't know what's going on for weeks at a time. It can be very tough! Just know that he's going out with some of the best equipped and best trained soldiers this world has ever known! I will keep him in my prayers. Thanks again.

Absolutely.

My father served, my hubby served and our son served.

Your sons are beautiful.

God bless our troops.

Thank you for all your support. I can say my son has character, committment and courage. :D

I would like to know how many other people can really say "I am ready and willing to DIE for MY COUNTRY"?

Believe me the list would be very short.

But listen to them whine and cry about their rights and freedoms. Well, pansies, get off your butts and do something about it. I for one am sick and tired of giving you handouts.

I would go in a heartbeat, but the Government says age 42 is the limit. :? I wouldn't hesitate to die so others can still retain their freedoms.

Would you?
