I have to wonder how phenomenal an album of Cain, Schon, Smitty, and a good studio bassist would be....

Not necessarily melodic rock or anything, not necessarily jazz or anything with lyrics, even... but just them playing some good music.

I would LOVE an album like that...

I'd pick Louis Johnson as the bassist. That really would be an AMAZING album!

I LOVE Gregg Rolie, he's one of my favorite musicians of all time.... but for some reason I feel more and more these days that Cain just might be a little more flexible in what he can do on the keys.

That's not taking away from Rolie's amazing voice and sensational organ work, however.

I LOVE Gregg Rolie, he's one of my favorite musicians of all time.... but for some reason I feel more and more these days that Cain just might be a little more flexible in what he can do on the keys.

That's not taking away from Rolie's amazing voice and sensational organ work, however.

Rolie is definitely the better organ player. (no jokes, please) Although as you can see on the 2001 video Cain is pretty damn good on the organ. (still no jokes, please)

But Cain is the more versatile keyboardist, and he's definitely better on piano and synth.

It takes EVERY single thing I love about Journey and crams it all into one action-packed jam... can't get enough.
