I've seen at least a few songs that are songs that were already released that happened to be used in the movie. I'm pretty sure we're looking for songs that were featured first in a movie, right? If it's just songs that have been on any old soundtrack, my god, I could list thousands if I sat down for even an hour to think about it.

I actually thought all the original songs from Rockstar were good... and also everything from This is Spinal Tap. Tenacious D: Pick Of Destiny had some awesome tunes as well.

Almost forgot.... Journey - Remember Me from Armageddon... though that was a somewhat awful movie. I still say they should have recorded a video for that, things would probably be pretty different right now if they had.

I wouldn't buy it to listen to, but a very effective theme song was The Theme from Rocky ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PtvLTZS4Ik ).

Just mentioned it is a previous thread, but Brian's Song is the best... for the movie.

Favorite song from a movie to just listen to....I have no idea. Heavy Metal was pretty good. I hate to admit it but I liked the Urban Cowboy soundtrack.

I think Bette was the 10th person to cover this song. Here is Sheena Easton's version from 5 years before.
