OT: Metallica's Current Tour

Has anyone seen Metallica on their Death Magnetic tour yet? Who all's got tickets to see 'em in the near future?

Last night was my first Metallica show, and as a casual fan.... I was won over completely. Such a tight, loud, impactful, epic performance... the guys were on top of their game and blasted away with riff after riff after riff.... they seemed to be having a great time, looked like they actually enjoyed what they were doing!

Also, the setlist had a HUGE weighting of new songs... I'd venture to guess 6.

I'm definitely wanting to get into more Metallica after this. Awesome stuff.

I went to the show here in SLC last Monday. It was arguably the best 'tallica concert I've ever been to! Being a hardcore fan, IMO they are playing tighter now more than they have in a long time. They just seem to be having a lot of fun out there. Its a great time to be a 'tallica fan.

saw them back in 1991 on the black tour and they were awesome.they gained plenty of new fans on that tour because they made their music a little more shorter and melodic.they might've pissed off some of the older fans who liked twelve minute songs but they gained plenty of new fans who liked the old stuff but also liked to hear things more streamlined.they went from like two million albums sold on its last album in '88 to ten million on the next one in '91 with the black album because they were willing to gamble on playing shorter more commercial penned material and they came up big.with this new album here in '08 i think they are trying to get some of that 80's vibe back but still please the newer fans who know them from their radio hits.if you are just getting into them i reccomend the black album and ride the lightning then maybe master of puppets.
