It's botox related: a friend who is a plastic surgeon (and admittedly who is very anti-botox) says that actors and especially singers should never get botox done in their upper lips and cheeks, because the paralysis in the facial muscles affects how a person unconsciously moves saliva from the front of the mouth to the back, which has a huge affect on ennunciation. Once he told me that (as well as all the cues to spot who's had it done) I've really started noticing the 'tsk' noise a lot; it's a way of moving that saliva with your tongue when you have limited movement in your upper lip and cheeks. People who've just had dental work seem to do it a bit too.

Vanity, thy name is Botox.....   :x :x :x

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE WHO RELY ON THEIR VOICE and, um....FACE....would VOLUNTARILY paralyze certain muscles - needed to DO THEIR JOB, BTW - to look better.

Sorry; didn't work...he looks like hell.

Agreed! No wrinkles, but also no expression, no human-ness, no dignity!

Neal is on his way, whne he blinks his mouth twitches

If his face gets any tighter, he won't need his hands to pee.
He can just smile and that will yank his foreskin back.

(jesus that was gross. what's the matter with me today?!)

Ya know, I just saw Florence Henderson (from The Brady Bunch) on a talk show the other day and she was making that sound. She definitely looked Botoxed...waxed-looking. :(

Okay, I though Manilow was as cheezed-out as it was possible to get ... but out shopping today I was treated to the Andean flute version of Open Arms playing over store speakers. :? :D

If it's his new album with all the 80s covers, it is horrendous. Absolute crap.
