Neal Schon Interview on Youtube

Postby peridactyl » Sun Nov 30, 2008 4:41 am

These 3 clips are of an interview with Neal Schon from the JSS era.

I suspect this interview may not be new to many of you but it was new to me and just posted on Youtube yesterday, so I thought I'd post them for anyone who might enjoy seeing them.

Neal talks about pre-Journey and Journey days

So, enjoy!

I hadn't seen these either - thanks for posting! It was good to hear that Neal wants to put
out a CD with his own vocals. That was a few years ago, but hopefully it's still happening.

Finally got around to watching these. Thanks a lot! I always love hearing from Neal, esp. about songwriting/guitar playing etc.
Neal actually sounds really good when he sings, I can't for the life of me understand why he doesn't sing lead more often; he has a really beautiful voice.

AnnPea, I love him singing in People and Places, especially watching the video of him in Japan 1980 sharing vocals with Steve. What a magical performance by the band on that song.

Question, why did he have sunglasses on the whole interview indoors? Strange.
Probably, the lights that the film crew were using; were too bright and caused his eyes to hurt.

WOW, great interview, lots of good info on there..thanks for posting it.

I sort of remember reading some of the things mentioned somewhere along the way but certainly not all..love hearing about stuff from the past.

Regarding the sunglasses Neal was wearing, he used to wear them all the time because he couldn't see without them, they were prescription. But at the Vegas shows this year he wasn't wearing them. We asked him about it and he said he had had lasic (sp?) surgery and could go without them now.

Like I said in another Neal thread, I like his voice and would love to hear him sing on a solo album.
