Paul Rodgers fan?! The song in my sig should sound familiar to you then. :)

oh yeah. I viewed that about an hour ago and am still recovering. 8)

:D :D :D

Got so much old footage, fun going through it all. LOL and I don't want to hear one word on those shorts. :?

I pulled up an old Free ~ Mr. Big youtube and almost didn't even recognize Paul Rodgers, it's from so long ago. :o I remember a Mr. Big interview where they mentioned bands like Free being one of their influences.

I would have thought Steve Martin would be at the top of that list.

Don't even go there today you two. I'm feeling punchy, could get ugly.

I really wish we could get another release from the Abraxas Pool project. So them live at the Filmore back in the day and that show was off the hook. Neal, Greg, Michael, Alphonso, Chepito- hell they all rocked. What a jam session from some of the world's best musicians.

I couldn't wait for 'Late Nite' (on the way, but its ETA is 3-4 weeks), so I got my hands on 'Piranha Blues'.
I would have liked it more as an instrumental (loved 'Blues for Miles'), but I did not like the
vocals. Martin-Ross has a powerful voice, but between the heavy guitar riffs and the vocals,
the sound of the CD comes across as Blues-Metal! If I'm going to hear vocals on a
Neal Schon CD, I would rather hear Neal.

I think he should have had the Grammy in 2002 for 'Voice' and should have been nominated for
'Beyond the Thunder' - it's amazing. I'm wondering if he would get more recognition as a solo
artist if he sang his own songs (like Eric Clapton) instead of bringing in another vocalist. When
someone else sings, they take center and the focus is off the guitarist.

I'm with both of you. You're preaching to the choir. 8) Solo or Journey, love his music.

I checked out Abraxas Pool on YouTube and I liked what I heard!
There's only one song on there, but I liked it better than any of the Santana songs
I've heard from the 70s era. I managed to order a used Abraxas Pool cd off of Amazon.com
- I'm really burning up the MC on these, but they're worth it!

Thanks so much - it is amazing to experience this music for the first time.
Most of the stuff produced today (or perhaps I should say charting today) is so lifeless
it could have been spit out by a computer, so hearing music from Journey
or Neal that I've never heard before is like a person dying of thirst finding a mountain spring.
