Think of the Colts without Manning, James and Bob Sanders or the Chargers without Rivers and Tomlinson...hell, the Chargers are average with them.

The Colts were with a 50% manning and lost Sanders for awhile plus their tight end and Harrison was gone for a few weeks..remember they were 1-3 I think...

Good points, Rick, but remember that Matt Cassel never started at USC so the last time he started a football game prior to this year was high school!!! And he didn't get the main reps in pre-season either. He was literally handed the job in the opening minutes of game 1. belichick and his staff did a remarkable job of turning him into a very good QB. Dude might be a stud elsewhere. And even though Manning was hurt, he's still Peyton Manning and the team feeds off of his experience.

right... Packers were 11-5 or 10-6 one year and did not get in...but then some years there 9-7 and win the division... crazy league.. but I love it better
than the NBA where 20 bad teams get in...and I hate the baseball wild card stuff..

Pro football would be better off having 2 conferences and that's it. Line the teams from top to bottom in each conference and let them play each other once...rotating home and away every other year. Every team in the AFC plays every other team in the AFc and the same for the NFC. Kind of like the way baseball used to til this gay interleague bullshit.

Look on the bright side, at least they can say that they definitely have solidified a big place in NFL history. If its any consolation to any of their fans on this board, as a Raider fan, I think we came close a time or two.
Rock on,

Glad you weren't disappointed!!!
