Anyone else gonna have a party of one tonight?

Postby G.I.Jim » Thu Jan 01, 2009 1:59 pm

Just wondering if I'm the only one on here who's significant other will be asleep within the hour...leaving me to party alone???  She has good reason to though, because she's been sick the last few days. I'm going to watch some tube, but once she falls asleep, I'll probably get drunk and make an ass of myself (as usual!)

Not alone, husband and son. We are sick at home with some kind of sinus junk too. Feelin better today than I have in a few days. I am going to stay up though. I can sleep all day tomorrow. Hope the Mrs. gets to feeling better. I have had the same kind of yuck for about a week! :?

Had big plans( well big plans for someone married with 3 kids) and it's my birthday too, but 2 out of 3 kids are sick and I can't justify dumping them off on someone else. Like I'm used to saying when it comes to my Cleveland sports teams.....there's always next year!

I'm drinking Guinness and watching old Christmas episodes of "Last of the summer wine" and probably some "Wallace and Gromit" after that. Peter Sallis is great, if only I could make it to 88 and still be as lively as him.

Wallace and Gromit! Which one? That is great artwork. It is more detailed and difficult to do than you know! Happy New Year Gunbot. I am so tempted to call you Gumby sometimes! LOL! That is what your name makes me think of!

A brand new one (and maybe the last one as they are hard to make and Peter, who voices Wallace, is 88, like I said)
"A matter of loaf and death"

Right back at you, and I hope you had a great one! We watched the ball drop, and got to see Dick Clark.....MAN it's hard to see him like that! I'm not trying to sound cruel, but I don't think he'll be around next year. It's very sad, and he's such an icon. I wish him the best though.

The wife just went to bed, and I'm actually gonna stay up to watch old Seinfield episodes.  I just watched the episode where George gets a massage from a guy and likes it...he starts wondering if he's gay!   I have 3 seasons on dvd, so I may be up for awhile.

I'm also recording the Twilight Zone-athon that comes on every year. I don't think there's a single episode that I haven't seen at LEAST 5 times. I just can't ever get enough of those episodes. I even bought the newest Twilight Zone series that came out a few years ago with Forest Whitaker (know I fucked up the name!) and LOVED it. Rod Sterling was nothing if not a pure genius (minus all the cigarette smoking that cost him his life).

Actually for how bad his stroke was I think it's amazing he's around at all and can even do that. He looks like he's had major plastic surgery and botox though  His wife too! Sad though.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I'll be popping this into the DVD player a few minutes before midnight and take a moment to watch an old favorite being performed by Dan and the boys, "Same Old Lang Syne".

Im gonna cry like a baby and not know what to make of life if Dick Clarke passes. Im probably jonna rob a liqour store in depression or some other crazy frickin thing.

I watched American Bandstand for years and listened to his top 30 countdown on KGKG FM in Brookings SD, every Sunday afternoon . I remember my uncle saying. I cant beleive that Dick Clarke guy has been around since GOD was in shortpants and still looks young. I thought three things in life were certainties :

1- Dick Clarke would always look young and it would all be ok.
2. The Solid Gold dancers would alway be on TV and HOT
3. Perry would always front Journey and have over 30 albums.

2 and 3 got shot to hell. I always held faith in number one
