Dude, we must be brothers from a different mother... haha! I may be the only one on the face of the planet that enjoyed Judge Dredd for what it was worth, because I was a HUGE fan of the comics already. Even chatted with Sly about the film in a CompuServe chat way back in the day (still have that transcript). It was just a really missed opportunity. Maybe they should have let Lexi Anderson who did the new Punisher film do it to get the characters and feel down.

He WAS the perfect Dredd... he even had the Dredd scowl down pat. I was so impressed by how faithfully they did the Angel clan too, especially Mean Machine Angel. But they made several mistakes that just lost the feel of the dark satire in the comics (something Lexi Anderson got right in "Punisher War Zone"). Just a real shame... still an old favorite of mine, though.

2000 AD confirms JUDGE DREDD is a go!

Rebellion and 2000 AD are proud to announce that Judge Dredd is coming to a cinema near you soon!

Together with DNA Films, the movie production company behind such great sci-fi movies such as Sunshine and 28 Weeks Later, Judge Dredd will go into production in 2009.

Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director said, ‘We can’t give away too many details at this point, but we’re looking forward to working with DNA Films to bring Judge Dredd back to the big screen.’
