Are you crazy? Nothing feels better than a South Carolina summer! I lived in Florence back in the mid-90s, loved it. And Summer of '06 I spent a good two weeks on Hilton Head Island and in Savannah, GA just soaking up the awesomeness. I loved walking outside at 2am and it being 90 degrees with 100% humidity. Oh, seriously. I love that! :)

Rhi...you're the wrong color to have lived in Florence! There's hardly ANY whites that live there. That's a shitty old town too, and I hope you got to come to Columbia to see a decent city...

Are you serious? Wow... I mean, it was a diverse town when I was there (1995-96), but it was a quaint little area. My favorite places were the Canterbury Coffee House (closed now), Percy & Willie's, Redbone Alley, Apple Annies... oh nom. So tasty! When I lived there Columbia was the place you didn't want to go! I spent a lot of time in Sumter though. That's a gorgeous town. And North Myrtle! :D
