Whoaaah! We cannot just decide to take someone's children away from them just because "we" have decided they have too many. These aren't puppies or kittens that you can box up with a "Free to Good Home" sign. This woman had these children because she wanted them, not by accident, or by some lack of attention to detail on her part. No doubt she needs some counseling (okay, prolly a whole lotta counseling), but we have not yet seen where she is unable or unwilling to care for her children. For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would want that many children, but, some people do. Will she likely require government assistance at some point? Very likely.

I think we can all agree on that one. Look, don't get me wrong, it is not my intention to defend this lunatic, what I'm trying to say is in this instance you have the added complication of a mother-child bond that I would be loathe to interfere with over a few dollars. It's not fair to taxpayer, but the unfortunate truth is we're footing the bill for a lot of things that we don't necessarily like.

But what makes me scratch my head is after knowing that she had the proceedure done before and the result was in having 6 children - why 1. would they implant so many eggs in her and 2. why in hell did they agree to do it?

She and her husband finally divorced in 2008 and his sperm was NOT used in any of the proceedures. She claims it was a "good friend" of hers that did all the donating. I think the "good friend" should stand up and foot the bill.

BTW - a 60 yr old woman in Canada delivered twins through invitro - this is getting out of hand.

As a taxpayer, I think we should pay for those kids. It isn't the children's fault they were born. We can't turn our backs on 14 kids can we? Now the mother is a different story. There has to be or should soon be a law of some kind to limit this. If she is doing this in order to receive extra handout money, then yes, we should run her over with a steamroller and paste her thinned out body on the wall of the United Way building.
